Blank Pages
About half the time I go to Pownce.com, the page comes up blank or takes extremely long to load. It doesn't matter what browser (FF2, FF3RC1, Safari, IE) or computer (OS X, XP, VIsta, Linux) I'm on. Also tried from different ISPs.
I know that I'm not the only one having this problem. How about a blog post to tell us what's being done about these issues. We're left out in the cold with the minimal responses we've seen on Get Satisfaction. I was planning to get a Pro account because I like Pownce and the amazing community of people, but the lack of communication from Pownce is holding me back. If there is any more information I can provide to assist, please feel free to ask.

Inappropriate?I have the same problems. I haven't been able to log in or post anything all day. I was once considering going pro but now not only am I not considering it. I've actually started the process of switching all my friends and everything over to www.plurk.com. I'm really upset about this because I love pownce dearly. Can anything be done to save pownce?

Inappropriate?Pownce has been in a state of decline regarding stability. It used to be maybe half a day at the most but this has been going on for well over a week. I'm a pro user but I haven't been able to use one feature. A simple note is like pulling teeth now.

Inappropriate?Problem has escalated to the point that it's completely down. I was able to get in once this afternoon!
This really feels like it's on the server end of things. Pings are coming in at about 89ms. Tracert drops after: 14 Metrocrossing.level3.net (63.209.82.190) 84.761 ms 84.369 ms 84.951 ms 15 * * *

Inappropriate?I really love Pownce, however, it seems that the ball is being dropped when it comes to their recent customer service actions. There are no communications or announcements in regards to this most recent outage - an outage that is quite severe and quite widespread throughout the community. But we, as a community, have not heard anything official as to what is really going on. A "we're working on it - thanks for your patience" isn't going to do it this time. If the site needs to be taken offline [with a "we'll be back soon"] for a day or two to really reset/fix things - I'd rather see that [or any action!] than this continued perception that nobody seems to care.
People are starting to move to other services and for a close-knit community like this one, this is a disaster.
I'm still standing by Pownce - but soon I fear I may be the only one left.

Blank pages that you're experiencing aren't due to outages, but most likely because of people calling our API too much. When this happens, we block the abusing IPs so that it lessens the load.
About an hour ago, we blocked a bunch of IPs that were causing these issues, so it should be getting better than it was earlier.
I read every single Get Satisfaction response and emails that go to info@pownce.com, so please be assured that we are responding to each and every issue that we see! -
Ariel, I appreciate your response. But it's hard for us users to know what's going on based on one response 7 days ago. You and the team need to better communicate current issues and update us via blog.pownce.com or other means. Keeping us out of the loop means people leaving the service. You have a good community here, let's keep it going! -

Start using !Pownce or the Pownce Blog, allowing comments on some of the blog posts, throw up notices when pownce is having alot of trouble. It still should not take a few weeks to sort out these types of issues, a site should at the very least load.
You can eat all the cupcakes you want as long as noticeable work is being done, now as for progress of the site, we've seen no progress, snazzy features big or small, the pownce.wiki is chock full of awesome suggestions
yet very little have been incorporated.
Dispite the downtime, I'm starting to be very disappointed in the progression of Pownce, look at plurk... now I'm sure that wasn't put together over night but it probably in a week dominated pownce's active userbase, if you want to get in on that action the pownce team needs to spend some long nights working, being innovative and creative, for a site to be remotely successful forward thinking and development can't stop. :)
