Can the AIR app open a link in a tab?
I have both Firefox and Safari set to open incoming links into a new tab, not a big fan of multiple windows.
From the AIR app, links always spawn a new browser window. Even when Firefox isn't yet launched, AIR will actually open TWO windows.

Inappropriate? We don't specify a window name in our calls to navigateToURL(), which should respect the user's browser preferences. In fact, it does on my machine: I have Safari configured to open new links in tabs, and it works as expected.
That said, several people have reported having problems with links opening in Firefox, and I can't say for sure whether it's an AIR issue or a browser one. Some folks have reported that AIR mistakenly opens links in a text editor, though, so I'm willing to bet that it's an AIR bug. Unfortunately we don't have any control over this. It's been reported to Adobe, and the best we can do is hope that it's fixed in the next beta release.
I’m hopeful
