Custom themes? What's up with background images?
Is there a reason that custom backgrounds do not automatically start in the top left corner?
I spent a couple minutes today throwing together something I thought I wanted to use for my custom background, and when I uploaded the new image, it doesn't start where I would like it to start. I don't want to just keep guessing with my background and trying to get it to look how I'd actually like it to look.
I'd rather not search for something that tiles easily, because that takes all the fun out of creating something custom for my page. Earlier, I had resorted to just making one giant image (5000 x 5000), but again, that's kind of not worth it.
My image is the same size as a standard user's background (1800x1200). I'm just curious to know why it's not positioned where it should be on the page.

Inappropriate?I think the definition of 'where it should be on the page' differs depending on who you talk to. Perhaps we should add the ability to determine where your image tiles from, but we were trying to keep it simple. Since the layout is centered, depending on what you're tiling, it's often better to have it center aligned. Sorry if that's not working for you.

I'm all for adding that ability! :) Bigger issues come first, of course, but if, somewhere down the line, you're looking for something small to add, I think that'd be a great thing to have.
I'm all for simplicity, but it was a small issue I was curious about. :) -
Or possibly even have a static background that does not scroll with the the rest of the pages content. That way the text and page scroll but the background doesn't move. This might be nice because many backgrounds don't look good tiled/stacked on each other and many are hard to fade into a solid color if you don't want to tile. But like Erin said this is small, tiny, itty bitty
