I'd really like to use a linux app for Pownce! Any chance of that happening anytime soon?
I am using Ubuntu linux(64-bit) and would like to know when the Pownce app will be supporting linux.

Inappropriate?Unfortunately not. Adobe's AIR developer FAQ states that:
"Adobe AIR 1.0 will not be available on Linux. We plan to release Linux support shortly after the 1.0. release. While we had originally planned to support Linux in the 1.0 timeframe, we have had to wait on the core Flash Player's support for Linux to be finalized."
However, we're hoping to alleviate that problem by releasing the public API well before AIR's 1.0 release date. Once that's done, I imagine it'll only be a matter of time until some enterprising developer decides to write their own Linux client.

Inappropriate? Then why does the Pownce front page say:
"The software is available right now for Windows and Mac users and will be available for Linux soon too."
?

Inappropriate? If you had chosen to use something else other than Adobe Air (e.g XUL or Java) we wouldn't have this problem.
Considering Pownce runs on Linux already this is a disappointment. On one hand you support Open Source, on the other....
I’m annoyed

Inappropriate? The official response to this question was 8 months ago. In a digital world, that's a LONG time ago. What gives?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Another 5 months has rolled by and the only way i see is wine, not native. COMON Adobe labs, get yer linux act together! We are a vocal market segment after all :
I’m at the end of my wick

Inappropriate?Hey lukeab, It's unfortunate that adobe air for linux is still in beta, but we are working on getting the air app functional under the linux platform. To check out the latest build you can download the source from http://code.google.com/p/powncedeskto...

Inappropriate?I'm using the Pownce app on linux without using wine and without any issues. Just get adobe air for linux: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/air/
FYI, I'm using the app that I got from the download page, not the latest build. Should I use the latest build instead? (Is it stable enough?)
Oh, and here, the Pownce app on linux:
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Rebeca if the current release is working for you, I'd just stick with that. While the latest linux build does have some improvements, it's also not styled at the moment making it hard to see some things.
