Replies to replies? Also, threaded replies?
On my main stream I see my messages, my friends' messages, my friends replies to my messages and my replies to other people's messages, but when there is a reply to a reply I have to go find it on the message's individual thread page? I keep missing halves of conversations for hours or days at a time (or forever, how would I know?) because I'm not noticing the "-n- replies" link on a message that's trailed down and out of sight. There should be some way to 'follow' a message's replies automatically.
Also, I keep thinking it would be nice to see some or all of a message's replies without leaving the page I'm on. Threaded inline replies, AJAX pop-up of the message's individual page, something... And the same sort of function from any reply in my stream to something else, which would show the original message and its replies without having to take me all over the web (or out of the Desktop app, as currently happens on any reply-related click).

Inappropriate? Some good ideas here. I'm sure Pownce is treading carefully in their efforts to not overstuff the page.

Inappropriate?Threaded replies are a slippery slope. Introducing a single level of nesting (a la Digg's old comment system) may make things even more confusing than they are now. It's definitely something we've considered, though, and we'll continue to do so if it becomes a more oft-requested enhancement.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I've gotten into the habit of using Cooliris Previews on the '-n- Replies' and 'Replied to -x-' links, which provides ... something like the functionality I want for threaded replies.
Being able to 'follow' someone else's message would be helpful, though I'm not sure how well it would scale... -
Inappropriate?Following messages should be a lot easier once we've got the syndication feeds for message replies up and running. This is something I'm really looking forward to having for myself as a user, too.
I’m excited

Inappropriate? The ability to follow replies would be much appreciated. Although, since the simplicity of Pownce is one of it's best qualities, I'd prefer not to have threaded discussion. Maybe a "new reply" notification that uses less real-estate than other messages?
I’m undecided

Inappropriate? Here's an idea: Each reply could have a "reply" link next to the delete x icon, and when someone replies to a specific reply, it could say "[username] replied to [person you are replying to] at [time stamp]." It would be less messy than threaded replies, but would be simple enough to not confuse everyone.
Just a thought. -
Inappropriate?I don't have any specific implementation in mind, but I agree with popastronaut on
1) I'd like to follow the replies too
2) Keep it simple !
Good luck :).
I’m enthousiastic
