Switching off Aero crashes Pownce client on Vista

I use BeyondTV by Snapstream - when I fired it up to watch a show it automatically switches off Aero on the fly, and crashes Pownce. I tried switching it on/off independant of the TV program with the same results. I'm running Vista Ultimate x86.
