Still getting the OS API dialog w/ 0.31
0.31 still gives the OS dialog box for the API when I try to log in. I believe you're change log said that was supposed to be fixed in this version.

Inappropriate?crud, can you send me your log file,
C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Application Data\PownceMonkey.0B79F3AA8BA7B28571920BBC33ADF06D54740292.1\Local Store\pm.log
email it to help at powncemonkey [dot] com
also try and note at what point, (what it says in the status bar), it is poping up.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hmm, everything was fine with my version (0.31 on Vista Home Premium 32bit) but just now I get the API login popup window again. Maybe it's just temporarily...
I’m frustrated by the unreliability of the API
-
Inappropriate?I wish this would go away too, but for now I think that some of the other users of the Pownce API are having the same problem. So there is something going on. I'm currently looking into the PM code to see if I can avoid the popup anyway.
I’m sick of it.

Inappropriate?Oops, I have to make a confession here - that last time the error occurred it was apparently me. I should have made the connection, it's just that I would not have thought what I did could cause this.
So what did I do? I tried to change the notification sound to something less obtrusive (mind You :-) ). In order to do so I deleted the original "chimp.mp3" and renamed an mp3 of my own choosing. That's when the login screen appeared.
I only realized that now when I tried it again with version 0.32 and the same thing happened. Sorry for that, I guess everything is running well after all (although there were some outages over the weekend from what I hear).
Guess I'm stuck with the screaming monkey sending me into shock each time for now... :-)
I’m happy (and a bit embarrassed :-) )

It's all good, there is def something going on with the api at this moment.
I plan on making an easy interface for changing the alert sounds in the future, but if you must change now you should be able to just replace the "chimp.mp3" file in the Program Files folder with another mp3, just have to keep the same name. -
Inappropriate? That's what I thought as well and therefore exactly what I tried to do, but doing so did produce this odd login window problem. When I put the original file back in place the problem was gone. The file was properly renamed and all, I don't know why the app acted up and somehow recognized that "chimp.mp3" was not the same. Some meta tag information? File attributes? Vista's UAC? I'm puzzled!
Maybe I'll try again, though I'm not quite sure what to do differently.
