Duplicate Item Filter
Profilactic appeared just as all these new sites pop up that allow you to post or update multiple social sites at once. Ping.fm and Utterz are set up to post to half a dozen sites and then Utterz can re-post those sites to more sites. So my mash-up fills up pretty fast with duplicates. I would love it if there were an option to filter out multiple postings, and love it even more if you could choose which site or sites you want to display as the main feed.
I know there's a GreaseMonkey script to do this in Google Reader (http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/2...) if that's any help at all. Thanks for setting up this really slick feedback and thank you for Profilactic itself!

Inappropriate? We are definitely working on duplicate item filters. Our current idea is to display one item with multiple favicons. So if you used Ping.fm to post "I'm drinking some coffee" to Twitter, Facebook and Jaiku, we would only show one "I'm drinking some coffee" message with the favicons for each of the services you posted it to.
In the meantime, you can exclude some feeds from your mashup using the site setup page. So if you're posting the same updates to two sites, you could turn the RSS feed to one of those sites off (while still leaving the link to that site in your "Where to Find Me Online" list) until we work out the duplicate item filters. This won't solve every duplicate item issue, but it may help some of them.
Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for being patient while we work on it. -
Inappropriate?this would be a huge improvement. i'm a big fan of ping.fm and all the dupes i'm seeing are making me a little bloated.

Inappropriate?Yes, I'm considering several similar services, and this feature is the dealbreaker.
