Is your service modeled after Tumblr?
Usually when a company/product/brand attempts to carve out a new niche in a market by blatantly ripping off an existing brand, they do so by improving on the latter.

Inappropriate?Microblogs/Tumblogs are pretty straight forward. Tumblr is the most popular platform for this. Creating something completely different just for the sake of it, doesn't make sense to me. Providing a familiar interface and building on that feature set over time does. The features that will differentiate the two services, will be in how the social network side of Publr works.
That said, there are a few of things that are, in my opinion better, which many users seem to overlook.
1.) you can post video directly to Publr.
2.) the api supports xml-rpc calls, which means blogging from desktop apps
3.) archive pages look better
Besides that, I'm actively working on several other features and improvements:
1.) option to enable commenting, without the need for a 3rd party service
2.) theme browser and several new themes
3.) iphone app
4.) multiple photo uploading, to create galleries, rather than just single photos
If you have suggestions, I'm listening and happy to implement ideas that are worthwhile.
I’m patient

1. You can blog to Tumblr from the desktop using Tumblweed.
2. Multiple iPhone/iPod Touch apps exist for Tumblr already.
3. Themes? Archive pages? Those won't act as selling points, nor will it differentiate you from Tumblr.
4. While native commenting, direct video, and multiple photo posting are valid improvements that Tumblr could make and would most likely be appreciated by most of it's users, again, it will not differentiate the two services.
The points you have made here are rather weak, and only further propagate the idea that Publr is a mere rip-off of Tumblr. It may have been more helpful to expand upon the "social network side of Publr", but good luck carving your niche when 1) the Tumblr community remains at large and for the most part, happy, and 2) from what you say, it does not seem that Publr is necessarily looking to carve one anyway; instead, merely capitalize upon the successes of a pre-existing service. -
Inappropriate?Tumblweed is new to me, looks cool... I am aware of the iPhone apps, just pointing out that I'm working on one myself for Publr, hopefully it'll have video support.
Lately, my focus has been on developing the api and remote posting options. Now that that's in decent shape, I'll primarily be working on the social network part of it. I will be able to expand on that soon, but for now, I'm still deciding on how that's going to work.
Yes, Tumblr users are very loyal and they enjoy letting me know that :-) -

Kindly explain to me why creativity "doesn't make sense" to you.
