Avoid interruptions because of calls or texts

I have an HTC touch pro and recently started using qik. Besides the fact that the phone doesn't stand up well on its own (need a phone tripod) the only other problem iv run into is interruptions.

The live feed stops when your phone automatically goes into power save mode so I was able to change that on my phones settings.

But the one problem im left with is interruptions due to a text or a call. While im streaming if someone text or calls me the feed simply stops. I tried turning off the phone portion of my device but that also turns off my data connection so live streaming cannot be achieved.

So is there any way for the stream to continue regardless of interruptions such as text or calls?
