blackberry storm cannot live stream
Cannot do live streams from blackberry storm 3500.
I can perform streams and it uploads them when completed... but cant stream on the fly.
When i select stream from the menu, the blackberry video camera interface appears, i press record and it starts just like qik capture mode, i finish by exiting and it uploads, but when it appears on qik.com it says its live but its not its just uploading a stream.
im using 0.1.4

Inappropriate?Hi,
The lag depends on the strength of connection to the network. Could you try to stream when there is a stronger connection? -
Inappropriate? My problem happens with full bars on 3G.
The problem seems to be it doesn't seem to start uploading the "stream" until i exit out of the video capture application. Obviously it needs to upload the stream while its being capture for live streaming, right? -
Inappropriate? Please let us know your carrier and qik username

Inappropriate?I have the same problem. I think I know what it is. Qik 0.1.4 on my Verizon Storm 9530 captures about 3MB of video for every minute of recording. There doesn't appear to be any way to make it less through the Storm OS or through the Qik application. That's far more data than Verizon can stream, so it has to buffer. For a one min video, it takes my Storm at least 5-8 mins to upload, even with a full 5 bars. I've tried it in several places on several cell towers with the same results.
On the receiving end, what I see on the computer screen is the live stream start for about 1 second and then just buffering. If you let it wait long enough, you can reply the video once uploaded.
If the Qik client isn't doing massive compression of the Storm video capture, this isn't going to work live and will take a long time to upload.

Hi Kent,
Alpha version of Qik for Storm does not compress media, so live is not possible at this moment. Bitrate of video is much bigger than network bandwidth :(
We plan to compress video in future versions. -
Inappropriate?Think this has to do with the video format; it's larger than the regular BB video-recording settings. I've had exactly this problem since the first version i've tested.
