Can't stream from BB Curve

I attempted to stream a live event today via Qik; it didn't work. Here's the sequence:
1. I embedded the "LIVE Qik channel" code into my blog.
2. I opened the Qik app on my BB Curve, which is on the Verizon network.
3. Qik prompted me to upgrade the Qik app; I downloaded the upgrade and re-booted the Curve, saw that all permissions were set to "allow," and hit "save."
4. The Curve's video was set to the smallest video size, and set to record to a memory card.
5. Every 35 seconds, the video would stop, and Qik would prompt me to re-hit the red Qik record button.
6. Meanwhile, my blog kept showing an old video from my Qik site. And the videos did not record on my Qik site.
I really love the Qik concept, but it has not worked well so far with the Curve. Please help me to figure this out.
