I keep getting "Invalid Application" on my sony ericsson k850...
On my Sony Ericsson k850i after I download the app my phone says "invalid application". What's happening? I tried to reinstall the app twice from new SMS messages and get the same response. Anyone have any ideas?

Inappropriate?I've had this problem with several applications on my SE TM 506, including qik. The solution seems to be downloading the the jar file onto my pc, then transfering to the phone. By opening the jad file, I found the url <http://s3.amazonaws.com/qik_staging/c...> which I then able to use to download the jar.

Inappropriate?Hi, is your phone operator branded (locked) phone? Qik application is signed with Verisign Class 3 certificate and should install and work fine on all unlocked SonyEricsson JP-8, 8.2 phones (K850i among them). Many mobile operators lock phones and does not allow to install signed third- party applications.
You also can try to download application (both jad and jar) to your PC, copy both files to /Phone Memory/Other folder), go to your phone Main Menu, select Organizer -> File Manager -> Other, select QikJ2ME_SE_.jad, click install.
These are urls you can download these files from:
http://s3.amazonaws.com/qik_staging/c...

Inappropriate?OK, guys you can try to download SE client from www.qik.com now. Go to www.qik.com from your mobile browser.
Upd: Those direct links I posted earlier have been disabled, do not try them. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for all the help guys. Vladimir I wish I had downloaded those files before the links were broken. I have not been able to download the SE client from the website. I've tried using my mobile browser on my SE k850 and when I click on the download link: "Download Qik for your SonyEricsson J2ME JP-8" the next page repeatedly says, "We're sorry, but something went wrong. We've been notified about this issue and we'll be take a look at it shortly." This has been happening for two days now, and no luck. I'm assuming, that a number of people are having this issue and that the Qik people are looking into it.
If you know of any other solution or another download location for the jad/jar lemme know. And thanks for all the help!!! To bad I missed those links you posted...I was at work and I shoulda just saved it to my thumb drive...oh well.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I'm having problem with my sony ericsson w890. I can't download from my phone, because it says "invalid application". Then I downloaded to my PC and then transfered to the phone via bluetooth in the "other" folder. When I try to install the file it says operation fail. I'm very disapointed because I bought this phone because it was in the list of supported phones. I also have an Iphone but I don't want to jailbreak.

Inappropriate?Beth, I'm not sure why your phone is doing that. I forgot to send an update, but about 3 weeks ago I was able to download the qik app on my k850 and install just fine. I used to get the exact same error as you both when I was able to download from my phone and when I tried to transfer from my pc to my phone. About two weeks after Vladimir responded, i was able to download from my phone and the install worked. I'm not sure if they solved the problem for just the k850 or all Sony Ericsson phones. So, unfortunately, I do not have any advice...I apologize.
I’m indifferent

Inappropriate? Thanks veru much snizzwatcher. Unfortunately the only response I got from Qik support, and only here in this forum, is that my phone is "blocked". I will debrand my phone, and I'll have to pay for this because I don't have a PC, my computer is MAC. After it's debranded I'll try to install it again and then I'll see what is the problem.
However I'd like to point out that I emailed qik support and they never answered me. Not nice...
I’m confused

Inappropriate?Well, miraculously, after 5 hours in the middle of the night trying to make this work, qik on the Sony Ericsson w890i worked, without me having to debrand my phone! I reconfigured it several times, changed phone company chip, got crazy making it install 100 times and suddenly it downloaded again from the internet and installed and worked. Unfortunately I did so many things that I don't remember exactly what I did that worked. It seems to me that it worked after I finally could download a new qik JAR file directly to the phone. And that happened while I was trying to install the qik file I had trasnfered from my computer.
I’m excited
