iPhone doesn't seem to pick up user settings

I've signed up, jailbroken my iPhone, installed qik... but nothing seems to go any further.

If I go into settings and try to log in,Qik keeps telling me activation has failed and that I need to click 'reinstall qik' on my profile.

Qik resends the text message just fine, but it doesn't have any effect.

Reinstalling, or even uninstalling and installing from fresh in cydia doesn't seem to make it work either.

All of the original sms messages are still in my inbox.
