Qik App on G1 apparently interferes with Camcorder G1 app
On the G1, it appears that after running the qik app, any attempts to run the standard (Android 1.5) camcorder app instead open the qik app! This condition clears with reboot.

Inappropriate?Yes, the problem appears solved on 0.0.4. BTW - I am noticing a bit of EDGE noise creeping into the earpiece when qik starts up (if I happen to be in EDGE rather than 3G) but that's presumably a phone design issue. Interesting how you guys got the video record level up to reasonable levels while the native camcorder app has them so low.
On different topic, while the G1 itself can upload private videos to YouTube (where they are currently marked public), and I'm told the Web interface isn't supposed to allow private vids to be sent to YT at all, the Web interface does *seem* to accept the YT upload command, even if it never actually completes. -

Private videos are not auto-uploaded if you have that checked on the website. However, if you specifically press Share > YouTube from your phone - then it is uploaded. This is because we assume that if you are making that specific selection from your phone you really want to do this. -

Qik is now available on Android! You can download the latest version 0.0.5 from market. The following features has been added:
-Force close cases are taken care of
-Video parsing is done correctly. The whole video makes it to the server
now.
- Delay indication during streaming.
- Stream restoring indication added (Uploading unsent data xx%).

Inappropriate?I actually have the opposite problem. If I use Qik, then go back and use the camcorder application for android, then when I go back to run qik again, it loads the android camcorder app instead of Qik.1 Comment

Samalolo, when Camcorder is launched and set in background, another application that uses video camera couldn't be started. Qik completely releases it's camera resources in background, so it is allowed to start Camcorder when Qik is in background. But Camcorder does not do the same, so it will be in background until you completely exit from it using Back button.

What is there to do if I am getting a page of java code popping up when the app is launched? It doesn't record at all now. The screen used to go black and it would force close but this problem is far worse. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I am at a loss. Help me Bhaskar, help me.

QikCzar, could you please tell us if SD card is inserted and there is enough room to record video?
