Tried the 4.03 Alpha version with my HTC Touch Diamond2, this is what I came across:

- Zoomed image is still there so the way how Qik communicates with the camera hardware hasn't been changed (see http://getsatisfaction.com/qik/topics...).
- Screen still laggy.
- Very small video preview (in 2.25 it was fullscreen)
- I have no clue how to broadcast with this version: there's no broadcast button.
- Operation is better then with the 2.25 version, buttons are responsive.
- Most options are greyed out like settings/tools and video resolution.
- Rear/front camera select button is clickable but doesn't do anything.

will try on my lg-incite and report back .

no good all i get is a black screen for bout 30 sec then exit without error .. where do i send the logs? also the dev build i was sent before still works should you not be using it as a base for my lg-incite ?

Log files are located in directory root\Program Files\Qik\logs.

Downloaded this version like many. And like many, I found some problems. In the beginning, it did take a few to make the connection. But when it did, I was happy it didn't freeze. Then the buttons. Oh the trouble. When it connected and I was like crazy trying to figure out how/why the buttons weren't active, they became active.Then trying to figure out what the second from left top did. Nothing. Take it it's a front/back lens thing like the guy above says. Next, did the settings and whatnot. They work and do like they are supposed to. All set to start streaming a test. Wait...where's the record button? Dang, they forgot to add it. Was about to close app and be disappointed when my finger happen to accidentally hit Voice button on the Omnia. Low and behold, it started recording!! Same button stopped it. I was happy. Still am. It works! Did white screen on me when shutting down once. But who cares. It was closing the app. I don't know guys, it worked for me. It sent out a twit. Just hope it keeps working.

facebook doesnt appear to work from the phone despite having gone through facebook signin at website. facebook logo in mobile app still shows exclamation mark and asks me to sign in at website. front camera selection doesnt change actual camera used. HTC diamond [telstra nextg 3g network, australia].

I've just tested Qik on my HTC Touch HD.

It installs fine and it appears to log in OK with my user profile. However, when I push the camera icon to start the recording, it changes as it was running, but Qik shows no live connection on the web.

Video size is a small rectangle into the center of my PDA display, not covering all the display available.

A refresh is now available for Alpha users on Samsung Omnia i900, i910. This new version can be downloaded by visiting http://qik.com/dl/412 from the browser on your Omnia.

Apart from various bug fixes, the features in this release contain:

And you know, was going to try putting dl instead of clients but looked at other links in this thread and saw different versions of it. So I said this is the one. haha.
I have the Samsung Omnia, so I can't help you out with the HTC. But recording has to be triggered somehow. I just hope it's not one of the onscreen buttons. I'm just happy that it works at all. And the promise that you can use the flashlight is really putting me over the edge. Can't wait to try it. I'll keep you posted if you want?

Silly question, but, what is the lock on the screen for?

Is it possible to hide menu bars while streaming video ?
Another nice feature would be the possibility to chose whether uploaded videos should be public or private (now they are always private).

StarKnight: Yes, hide menu bars in plans!
Becki: Lock -> is switching between public and private mode (I'll add a message to chat then pressing this key).
For public mode Lock must be opened.

I like the new version WAY better. However I did a test with the new version for a few seconds and turned it off. It is now stuck on upload. the circling arrows are active and won't quit. Is there any way to cancel an upload?

In addition, the only thing that makes me uncomfortable is not knowing what is going on with the uploading. For me, it takes a long time, unusual since I only stream with wifi or EVDO connection which is normally good. I did the Verizon ROM upgrade with GPS and wonder if that is the problem.

Cancel Uploading will be implemented in the next versions.

I am unable to change video resolution using the latest release 4.20 (never have been able to) using the Sprint HTC Diamond. Will this feature be coming for this device?

for Qik on Windows Mobile - best device now is Samsung Omnia, may be samsung will release some new models like Omnia - it will be the best choise.
HTC Touch Pro2 has not good hardware for Qik.

I can't get Qik to connect on my account with my Omnia I900 phone. I've downloaded the current qik version (4.21) and installed it in my Omnia. I can connect to my Qik account from the website with my PC, so it's not a login and pass issue. But I get stuck on the signing in screen whenever I try to use Qik on my omnia. It tells me "Wait" then nothing happen as long as I don't press the "cancel" button !!

Hope you could help me tu use this wonderful application !

I have the Samsung Omnia SCH-i910, and I LOVE Qik on it. When I first heard about the program about 2 months ago, I had a really hard time finding a version that worked. When I finally found one, I was in bliss. I've streamed and entire 30 minute set of my band with Qik and my phone. http://qik.com/ceramony

The latest version works wonderfully. I love that I can now set the title of the video before shooting it, or before it finishes uploading. There are 6 resolution settings, but I usually go with 320x240, for best upload speed and quality.

Anyway, for all your media needs, the Omnia is definately a solid choice. The 5mp camera is great for Twitter and Qik. :)

The true beauty will come when the guys at Qik let you switch the flash on/off and allow you to access the camera settings through the program. LOL

I've already checked all internet connection from my Omnia I900 and everything is ok. But I still get Qik hang on the user login screen, with no chance to go further...
The weird thing is that the very first time I ran Qik on my Omnia, it connected easily on my qik account website so I could begin to record some video though I didn't success to stream the flow to my Qik Live Channel.
But since this time Qik always stick on the user login screen, whatever I try to do to fix the problem (resetting my password, uninstall Qik and reinstall it after cleaning phone registry)

Hope you could help me. Thx for your support anyway...

All internet connection are ok on my Omnia. but I still can't get Qik going further than the user login screen.

But no way to get it working again since this time, whatever I try to do to fix it (uninstall, clean phone registry, reinstall, resetting password account etc...)

Andrew, you were right, I connect Qik with wifi connection and everything worked fine, I was able to login, record video and stream them live on network form my phone. Great, really great !!
The best thing is once I log for the first time as a new user, I don't need wifi anymore to connect and stream again...
Cool as you don't necessary have a wifi hotspot everywhere you need one !!!
