So is there any support for the HTC Dream coming soon?
I'd love to see Qik running on Google Android :)

Inappropriate?Android does not support video capturing yet. Once it does, we will be evaluating the ability to support it.
-
You are incorrect. The T-Mobile G1 can capture video. It is just not a standard application in Android, but you can download it from the Android Market. -
Inappropriate?What application do you mean?
-
Inappropriate? It is simply called "Video Recoder/Video Camera". Have a look in the Android MArket.
-
Inappropriate? The home of the mentioned App is here:
http://www.android7.org/forum/viewtop...
I want Qik on my (now rooted) G1 as quickly as anyone, but I don't think this App has quite made the technological leap itself to doing anything more than taking photos really fast.
That said, "Android" looks like video is a hidden function (illegal? internal? hidden but available?):

And the G1 has the hardware to record video, and can run the "Cupcake version", which has the built-in video recording app (NOT the one above, but the official GOOGLE one):

It's just not on the consumer level yet. And the version of Android on the consumer version of the G1 does not have a video recording API in the OS.
So everybody is right?
It has been in "it's coming" status forever from Google, HTC and T-Mobile. If a company had a proof of concept App, maybe they'd let us have our toy. Or make everyone upgrade to a mysterious G2. -
Inappropriate?Video Recording is NOW NATIVE with the OTA update of Android 1.5 to the G1 and the Android Developer Phone.
Resolution 352x288 H.263 3GP Mono sound @ 8KHz
Frame rate 16-19fps
In my tests, about 20-25 seconds per MB or 46KB/s

I’m excited

Inappropriate? So what do we need to have a Qik client for Android now??
