trouble with email alert and total number of answers
hello
i'm receiving email alerts for every new submitted response. i have received 8 messages with the same ID (numbers in parentheses), but clearly not the same person that answer the survey.
and also, if i look at this number the last received id 86, but the total of response in the survey is 78! so i'm missing some responses...
where's the problem?
thanks
best regards, n

Inappropriate?Hi,
We're looking into it and will let you know as soon as we understand what is happening.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?Hello,
The responses with the same number occur when a respondent corrects an already existing response. Because you used the mailing list system, those answers were received using the hyperlink associated with an email address (on the responses page click the special fields button and select session id to find the email associated with entry 86).
Regarding the second question, the number that appears on the email is not going to be equal to the total number of responses if some responses were deleted. I did check your survey responses, and it seems at least that entries 1 to 9 were deleted.
Does it make any sense?
Andre

Inappropriate?hello andre,
thanks for your answers.
for the second question it make sense, i have deleted some responses, right!
but for the other problem that's not clear... the email alert with the same number have differents responses and the last question of the survey the email the visitor can write is not the same. very strange...
i can forward the email to you to check?
and on the responses page there is no session id with entry 86...
i now just discovered that in the email invitation i've sent, since the survey was multilanguage, i had the message in two language, and the automatic link two times. but in the message they received the second link was like that:
...questionform.com/public/questionnaire/%email and not the real email adresse.
can this be the reason?
sorry for my english...
best regards, n
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?That is strange.
The %email% is correct, that's a placeholder where we replace with the email address of each of your mailing list entries, and so we can track who has responded and also you can associate a response with a specific email address (that's what we call session id).
Perhaps the first link was not correct?
Are you sure about the session id? I checked and entry 86 has an email associated with it.
And please do forward the email, that would be helpful.
Thanks,
I’m concerned

Inappropriate?hello andre,
in the email invitation* that was sent i had the text in french and german, so i have copied the link with the %email% placeholder two times.
in the email received the first link show the actual email, but the second show the placeholder, but without the closing %... so i assume that was an error of mine when coping/pasting...
but the strange behaviour with entry 86 remains...
where can i forward you the email?
* btw, is there a possibility to save the email invitation text? now everytime we send an invitation the default english text appears.
thanks

-
Inappropriate?Oh sorry, forgot to indicate the email.
Please forward the email to support at questionform.com.
Thanks -
Inappropriate?Thank you.
This was caused by the link specific to one email being forwarded to several other users.
I’m confident
The company says
this solves the problem
