I sent an WebSMS successfully from Canada to China, but when my friend replied the SMS, I don't seem to get the message. I have my preferred number set to my cell phone. Anyone might be able to help? Thanks.

Did your friend reply through Rebtel or did he reply through his phone carrier?
Please note that he can only SMS through Rebtel by sending a WebSMS from his account. If he doesn't have a Rebtel account then he should SMS you directly through his phone carrier to your Canadian number.
