I'm sorry to hear you had a hard time. What was the issue, and can it be resolved?

How should REI solve the problem if you dont share it? REI staff is well trained and motivated i have never ever had a problem with REI! REI is the worlds leading outdoor retailer! If they would be like you post here they would not be number one!

Your comment alone speaks volumes...I bet you have a real attitude problem and unreasonable expectations. Suggesting that the staff are "assholes" and expecting sympathy is pretty stupid. Maybe you'll be more specific next time so we can decide whether you have a valid point.

RuTemple, I am the community manager at Get Satisfaction. I was trying to reach out and help someone who wasn't happy with REI. I'm a big fan of REI and wanted to do something to help.

Does the person you quoted even KNOW you're stirring up crap on his behalf? Epic fail on your part for drive-by muckraking, sir. This does nothing to "help" either the person's situation nor REI. If this is your idea of generating conversation on your website, I recommend a cluebat and a therapist.
