Hi colladude,
I changed some of this code in version 2.4.1, which hit the App Store a few days ago.
Any chance you could update and see if reMail works for you now with these changes?
Passwords of any length should be fine.
Also, if you're using a Gmail account, make sure IMAP is enabled for it.
Thanks for your help!
Gabor

Inappropriate? Thanks colladude for pointing this out. I'll look into it today and will let you know how it went. Gabor

Inappropriate? One quick clarification: Are you using special characters from ASCII (http://www.flexcomm.com/library/ASCII...) or Unicode characters? I've tested the former, not the latter.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?Am only using ASCII - What about length of passwords? - Does it support a length of 13 ?
I’m unsure

My problem is apparently different than initially thought.
I require SSL and CRAM-MD5 for IMAP on my Snow Leopard server. I have Remail configured to use SSL and CRAM-MD5. Yet, for every attempt to connect with Remail, the IMAP debug log on the server says "imap-login: Authenticate PLAIN failed: Unsupported authentication mechanism.: method=PLAIN..."
Why would Remail be attempting PLAIN authentication? By the way, this would be a security hole if in its attempts to use PLAIN authentication, Remail is sending my password over the 'net in clear text. -
Hi there - so from the code it looks like it's doing a right thing (i.e. it MD5's the password). I'm suspecting I'm not correctly setting the "method=" header correctly. Looking into this further now.
Thanks! Gabor -
