Chrrch is a new church management system created to set a new standard for churches.
We want to instantly allow churches to get started in our application by removing the gap between them, and their software.
Our goal is to create a system that requires no headaches to get started and friendly customer service to support it all.
A feature I would LOVE to see (although I realize this would be quite a bit of work) is volunteer scheduling. The ability to have a groups with volunteers and availability and then slots to schedule them would be awesome!
Is it possible for you to create a tool to import data from an old ChMS? It just needs to be able to read CSV files and text files, as most pieces of software have the ability to output to these. Also, once data is uploaded, the ability to map fields should be available so things don't get scrambled. Just a thought =]
A feature that would be very nice would be the ability to add custom fields for a person. This would allow churches to record everything they want without having to clutter the pages up with a lot of different fields.
It would be cool if there was a link to Google maps (or another mapping service) directly on the addresses page. Then you would just be one click away from seeing a map of their location. You could also possibly have a directions link that would open up Google maps with directions to their address from the church.
It would be nice to be able to send mass text messages from Chrrch. Most, if not all, carriers have email addresses (like 5555555555@att.net) that will send the message to the person's phone. So I would think you could just send out emails to those addresses.
School & grade level are two more pieces of information it would be nice to keep track of since we would use this for our youth group. The current software we have uses drop downs for both the school (we get to say what schools are in the list) and the grade.
The date text box requires you to type two digits for the month and day, even for a date like 7/2/1985. Most people aren't used to having to enter 07/02/1985. What I've seen before is that when the user enters either '/' or '-' they are taken to the next field automatically. So then they just have to enter 7/2/1985, which is more natural.
The date picker calendar only goes to 1999. This causes problems for at least the birth date field. For example, I initially typed in a birth date of 7/2/1985 and saved it. Then when I went back and opened the calendar it opened to July of 1999. As long as I don't change the year it will leave it as 1985- even though it says 1999. But if I change the year there is no way to get back to 1985 without typing it in.
It would be nice to be able to filter people by more than just first & last name. Age, gender, & church relation immediately come to mind as being useful.
Another nice feature would be to allow users to save their filters. Then they could select commonly used filters from a drop-down list instead of having to recreate it every time.
When on the second step of creating a mail merge - "Select Recipients" - I am unable to click on "Lookup contacts...." When I click there, my cursor goes into the box, I can't type there obviously, but the pop-up to search from never shows up.
Curious why this isn't just changed out for a button instead of the text box. I could see where this type of behavior could be confusing to a less technically minded user within a church - ie, "I clicked in the box, but it doesn't let me type. What is wrong with this thing?".
As always, thanks for listening and the great work!
When I create a batch and have it set to Open and Not Transferred, once I finish my work on that batch, I click the Edit Batch Info link to close and transfer the batch. However, after clicking save on the edit batch screen, this creates a new batch and does not modify the original batch. Also, when I am on the Edit Batch screen, the Batch Name is blank and the date shows as today's date.
When will reporting be available? The one thing holding us back from moving completely over to our chrrch install is the lack of any reports. Those that we need most would be for finances.
How can I add an sunday service offering? I always have to add a person to a transaction, but offerings are not personal so I can't enter them. Is there a solution for this?
It would be wonderful if the 'View' of the Families & People list could be modified to show whatever criteria the user desires. Currently, it displays birth date and email address, but I would like to have it display the users email address and phone number instead. Is there a way to allow users to create a custom view?
i'm just starting out with this, and i'm really pleased with what i'm seeing so far. looking forward to really getting into this and using all the bells and whistles.
As an added feature to Groups, it would be great to have some kind of event check-in system. Would be extremely helpful for nusery and kids ministry stuff.
When adding transactions to a batch, the links at the top of the Account Details don't seem to do anything other than pop up a window asking if I want to navigate away with unsaved changes. It would be nice if clicking on Fund for instance, popped up a window where you could add a new Fund to the system. Also, when clicking Adding New Line, it often adds two lines, instead of one.
Is there any way that a person can be related to more than one family? For example, Jane Smith Doe is the child of John Smith but the wife of James Doe.
When trying to access "Administration" within my account, I receive an error message without any details. Is the Administration section supposed to be accessible now? I am looking to setup other users for our staff within our church account. Thanks.
