Change to current location not working
I'm using the BlackBerry Storm and attempted to set my "Home" location but it states that my location cannot be determined, regardless of whether I'm indoors or outdoors. Any thoughts?

Unfortunately, it appears Verizon didn't completely open up access to the GPS chip on the Blackberry Storm. Google Maps is allowed to access the chip, but other 3rd party apps aren't. Until Verizon changes their policies, reQall's location features won't work on the Blackberry Storm. We very much wish this wasn't the case.
I’m grumpy with Verizon.

Inappropriate?Sorry to hear it! I assume other GPS-enabled apps like Google Maps work correctly? It's possible your carrier's default permissions for new applications don't allow our app to access the GPS - From the main Blackberry icon grid screen, look at Options (possibly Settings) -> Advanced Options -> Applications. Select reQall, then press the menu key and choose Permissions. Look to see whether reQall can access the your location.
Hopefully all of that made sense - if not, let me know and I'll see if I can track down a Storm and give you better instructions. :)
I’m confident we'll get this sorted out.

Inappropriate?Yes, Google Maps, as well as a few other third party apps using GPS are working perfectly. I also changed permissions to "Allow" prior to writing you and that did not fix the problem. Any other thoughts?

Inappropriate? Can I ask you to check Options -> Advanced Options -> GPS? Does the page shown display your correct lat and long?

Inappropriate?BB curve, same issue. Tried with both BB maps and google maps running (and locating me,) but reqall still won't find me. I wonder if only true GPS works, not the A-GPS we verizon users have...
-
Yes, Verizon locks the GPS on the Curve so only their navigation app can access it. Not much we can do there, I'm afraid. -
Inappropriate? When I access this screen there is nothing that states lat and long. I only see the following options:
GPS Data Source: Device GPS
GPS Services: Location On
Location Aiding: Enabled -

Are you sure that you cannot access the GPS. I understood that the GPS is now available to third-part applications for OS 4.7 and beyond (currently only the storm). I have multiple third-party applications that now use the GPS (Google Maps, gps-ed, GPS Tracker to name a few). I have not tried this myself, but here is a blog article of someone explaining how they were able to get GPS working on a Verizon Storm: http://www.riccomini.name/Topics/Mobi.... -
Inappropriate?Deb shared the same info on another post and it surprises me that two other 3rd party apps I have utilize the devices GPS to set my location and they work great. They are "Where" and "Poynt".

Inappropriate?I use Poynt, Google Maps, Ipoki, GPS Tracker and CacheBerry. I have used a couple of others as well.

Inappropriate?Hi guys, we are aware of some apps that have found workarounds and some that in place of GPS are using cellular triangulation. Please see the following links:

Also this link mentions a workaround that will allow other apps to work, however I do not believe that this will work for all applications:
