Daily email reminder?
I know I've done this before, but I do not know how I did it.
I wanted to remind my hubby with a daily email reminder that we had to do a certain task.
He got the emails daily with no problem. But, now I want to remind someone else with a daily email reminder and it won't work.
For example: "remind Barbara to take out the trash every day at 7pm."
Should't she be getting an email reminder daily at 7pm?

Inappropriate?Hi Christine, there are couple of ways to make this work and also a couple of possibilities. First, if you are sharing with a non reQall user and you have this person entered into your Contacts then this will be shared with them via email. If you are sharing with a reQall user, then the item will be shared to their reQall account and sent out based on how they have their settings.
Next, how are you adding the item from your iPhone? Are you doing it using the Add By Voice function or eyes free recording? Or are you entering it by text? If you enter the item via text then typing, "remind Barbara to take out the trash every day at 7pm" should work. If you are entering the task using the Add By Voice function then you will have to manually edit the item using the "For" drop down.

I am adding the todo via the iphone app. I am typing it in.
This is what I typed;
Remind Barbara about the photos everyp day at 7pm
She recieved a shared email, as I made the todo, but never recieved anything at 7pm.
this is what I see when I open the details on the todo.
I see the task as typed above,
It's in the "in To-Dos"
Due date is the date I generated the todo with time being 7pm
on the reoccurance I see "every day at 7pm"
I see it is shared with Barbara (who is not a reqall user, she recieves the email reminders. But she is in my contacts)
and no place is assigned.
As stated, she did recieve the first email as I created the todo, but neither she nor I got a reminder at 7pm.
Please help me figure out how to write this correctly.
Since I do need these kind very often.

Inappropriate?Christine, I've been working with the development team on this and am finding some inconsistencies, but we haven't yet tracked down what is causing it. For example, I created an item that I shared to another email address of mine (a non-reQall user) that said "test for every day at 12:16 pm". I seem to be getting the reminders at that email address every other day so far. Are you getting any reminders at all?
It would probably also be helpful for the team if they could track what is happening with one of your reminders in addition to tracking with mine. Would it be ok if we looked at one of your items? If so, could you send the account info and info about the item (maybe just a key word in the content) to Jessi at support@reqall.com?

Inappropriate?Hi, Christine. I checked your account and found two items that I think you meant to be recurring reminders. However, they weren't recognized by reQall as recurring reminders. One said "everyday at 7pm". The other said "daily at 7pm". reQall will only recognize it if it's "every day at 7pm". So, that's why you didn't get a reminder every day. However, you should have gotten a single reminder on that date. I'll have the team check the logs to see if those reminders went.

Inappropriate?yes, I agree. I noticed this as well, those were in my experimental phase. But, I had other ones that did say correclty, "every day at 7pm"
I'd be glad to test this again if need to.

Inappropriate?Hi Deb, the test todo I created today for Barbara did not remind me nor Barbara today. We both recieved the initial one when created, but no reminders on the set time. Please let me know if I should try another test task.

Inappropriate?Hi Deb, I have been meaning to email you but was waiting for verification from Barbara. I recieved an email reminder today at 4pm from the test one we did a few days ago. I texted Barbara if she also got one, but have not heard back. I will let you know as soon as I hear from her.

Inappropriate?Barbara recieved the notification yesterday for the 4pm task. We will continue to watch it today.
I did make a new one and assigned it to Marco for every day at 10:15pm. I created it at 9:30ish yesterday evening. We did not get any reminders, but am thinking it will start the following day.
I will let you know as the day goes on if the email notifications are now coming through. -

Inappropriate?No, sorry I should have been clearer. We have a setting on each contact that says whether or not the reQall user is able to send reminders to them. We have this so that if someone reports that they are being spammed by one of our users, we can turn off the reminders. For some reason, a bunch of people's contacts (not just yours) have this setting turned off. So, we have to turn it on for each contact that it was incorrectly turned off. So, nothing you did wrong, nothing wrong with your account. It was our fault--some kind of bug in our code. I'm sorry about this. I really appreciate your help in figuring this out.

I do have a question. I created a new test reminder to Barbara for 7:30pm. For some odd reason we both get the reminders at 7:00am. I understand I have the alarm set for 30 minutes prior, but any idea why we would get them at am and not pm?

I think I'm going to have to hire you to be in our testing team. :-) I've asked the team to dig into this and to dig further into all of the reminder code to determine why these issues are coming up now. Inappropriate?Christine, this is very strange. Our logs show that the reminder emails went at 19:00 Eastern time, so 7 p.m. to Barbara. You had 2 items that were set to 7:30 p.m. I see in the logs that one of those went to Barbara on 10/8, 10/9, and 10/10 at 7 p.m. That item is now deleted. The other item went to Barbara at 7 p.m. on 10/9, 10/10, and 10/11. Did any of them reach her or you at the right time? The only thing I can think is that maybe there's an issue in the cloud between our email being sent and your provider receiving it. I'm not sure what to do or suggest at this point, since it seems to be going out at the right time.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing, that between you sending and my email provider forwarding it, things got hung up. But, it seemed that they were coming 12 hours too early, which then didn't make sence, unless it was the other way around meaning they were getting to me 12 hours late! I know, not your fault
Good news though, it looks like they are now coming at the right time. At least the ones for Marco. Maybe things just got totally confusing, since there were a few tests going on, all to Barbara and Marco and all around the same time.
Thanks for your help on this. I'm excited that it's working now. Now I can really get on Barbara's case to edit those dang photo's!! LOL
