How do I sync with Outlook 2003 when using Microsoft Exchange?
When pressing the sync button in Outlook it reports "No qualified Personal Folder Found." How do I proceed when using Microsoft Exchange?

The version on the website now handles Exchange. Please go to http://www.reqall.com/webnew/calendar... and select the appropriate link based on the Outlook version you are using.
BTW, I found that some of my email and your email to me on the subject of Outlook ended up in spam folders. So, if you sent me a request and didn't hear back, please check your spam folder. Sorry about that. Evidently it was labeled as spam because the URL had a number in it.

reQall needs a place in Outlook that has both a "Calendar" folder and a "Tasks" folder to put the reQall items into. This has to be local to your computer; i.e they can't be Exchange folders. For example the default "Personal Folders" that you get after installing Outlook works because it contains both "Calendar" and "Tasks". If your current installation doesn't have this, you can create a new "local store" as follows.
To create a new local store in Outlook 2003
1. Start Outlook
2. From the top menu bar, choose File -> New -> Outlook data file (near bottom of the menu)
3. Then choose "Office Outlook Personal Folders File (.pst)"
4. Click OK and then one more OK for the file name (or you can change the name)
5. Give a name to the store (this is what will display in your folder list) and choose "No Encryption" and then OK
There's no "Calendar" and "Tasks" under this newly created store. To make it visible:
1. From the top menu, choose Tools -> Email Accounts
2. Select "View or change existing e-mail accounts"
3. From "Deliver new e-mail to the following location", choose your new store name and then "Finish"
4. You'll get a message saying "You have changed the default delivery location for your email. This will change the location for your Inbox, Calendar, and other folders. These changes will take effect the next time you start Outlook.
5. Click OK
6. Close Outlook and start it again. The "Calendar" and "Tasks" should appear in the new local store.
7. If you can't see the "Calendar" and "Tasks" under the newly created store, press the yellow folder icon (Folder list) at the bottom left hand corner.
8. Once the new local store is created successfully, you can change back to your original location for receiving your emails and still set reQall for Outlook to use the newly created store. The process to change back to your original location is to repeat steps 1-6, this time choosing that location for "Deliver new e-mail to the following location." -

Thanks for the above, which is working for me with Outook 2007/Exchange as well.
However, one thing I notice is that:
a) Outlook reminders cannot be set for anything saved in the new PST file (it gives a warning that the folder does not support reminders), and
b) being in a seperate pst file and thus not part of the main mailbox store, the event is thus not synchronised with my mobile phone.
Both the above are important for users who use their mobile phones with Exchange, and so would it would be good if this can be resolved.
One thing I did find is that by using a iCal feed into Outlook (using the opensource .net component referenced in another post), the calendar events ARE stored in the main mailbox store (i.e. the one used for Exchange), and so those events pop up quite nicely on my mobile device (and also works well with Outlook reminders).
However, as discussed in another post on this site, iCal with Outlook only works with events (meetings), and does not work with tasks (which the first method with the direct sync/new PST file does support).
So, both the above sort of provide half the functionality we need. Anyway to combine the two in an elegant way??!! (I am currently running both at the same time, but that then means that there are potentially duplicate diary events for those meetings/events that do go through into the calendar - one from iCal int the main store, and the other from the Outlook direct sync into the new PST file!).-
Thanks for the additional input on this. I'll pass this by our developers and see what they can do.

I followed the directions for syncing to the Outlook personal Calendar and echo the comments of Suhail. Having to search out appointments in more than one place is anti-productive and something I have no interest in. Hope you come up with better solution. Thanks.

The team is already working on a better solution for Exchange. Thanks for letting us know.

Syncing with Exchange is a rather basic requirement for me. Without it, this program is useless to me.
I'm looking forward to hearing about the solution... when it happens I think I'll be hooked!! -

This will be a very cool app once an Exchange solution is solidified, in addition to being allowed to set GEO coordinates on the Verizon Blackberry Storm.

I echo the need for better exchange support. I set it all up, and it said it was transfering items in the log, but now I realize it wont show up in my main calendar or to do list (exchange). This is a key feature for me and other programs can sync to the exchange cal and todo. Look at the Toodledo Outlook sync, I have that working fine.

I agree with the requirement for Exchange support. Without Exchange support, this isn't really Outlook integration. How many people use Outlook with just a PST and not on an Exchange Server?
When Exchange Support is available (and working), I'll be ready to upgrade to Pro. -

Nice. I just upgraded to pro for the Outlook sync, among other things. The bit on the Reqall site about Outlook should plainly spell out that this doesnt work with Exchange. As it sits now it's very deceptive. If it says it works with Outlook it should or be specific about what doesn't.

As I posted on another topic, there are many individuals and small businesses that use Outlook without Exchange. But, you're all very right -- we need to have Exchange support. And, Jason, you're also right. We should have mentioned that it didn't work directly with Exchange's OST file instead of just saying Outlook 2003 and 2007. I apologize--that was an oversight on my part. Please bear with us -- we're working hard to get Exchange support available as soon as possible.

Have had luck with this workaround: Sync Reqall with Google calendar and then synch Google calendar with Outlook 2003 using SyncMyCal. Not sure how well any of the other Google-Outlook sync programs would work.

I too need Exchange support; happy to beta test if the fix is close to release (I'm on Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2007).

We have the Exchange support ready for beta test. If you're interested in trying it, please send an email to deb.miller@reqall.com. I'll send you the link.

Awesome, email sent!
