Outlook not showing reqall appointments
I've added an appointment that has a due date, but it does not show up in Outlook's calandar. I've added iCal calandar to Outlook through the settings function on Reqall's website, as directed. When I do send/receive, Outlook says: Task 'Internet Calendar Subscriptions' reported error (0x00040005) : 'Outlook cannot import any appointments from the iCalendar file.'

Inappropriate?I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. We are looking at the issue you had with Outlook.
-
Inappropriate? Please follow the steps given below to subscribe to calendar feed in Outlook. If you continue getting the error, please contact us at support@reqall.com with your account details and we'll help you sort this out.
Outlook doesn't support the iCal standard for tasks. So, Outlook is only going to sync things that it thinks are "events". reQall creates an iCal event when the item starts with "meet" or "meeting”. For example, “Meet Sara at 5:00 pm today”.
For Outlook 2003:
1. Download the remote calendar plug-in from the following link:
http://sourceforge.net/project/platfo...
2. Follow the instructions to install the plug-in. You may have to install the .NET framework as well.
3. Once you install this you will get an icon on the menu bar of Outlook. Click on the remote calendar icon and then provide the reQall iCal URL.
To get your personalized reQall iCal feed URL:
a) Access your reQall account at www.reqall.com
b) Go to "Feed" under "Settings"
c) Enable "iCal feed of my reQall posts"
d) Right click on the "Subscribe" icon and select "copy link location" (or "copy shortcut" if you use Internet Explorer).
To subscribe to the iCal feed for Outlook 2007:
1. Login to your reQall account from the link http://www.reqall.com/webnew/icalfeeds
2. Ensure that the check box for "iCal feed of my reQall posts" is enabled.
3. Now, right click on the icon for "Subscribe" and select "Copy Link Location" (in Internet Explorer) or select on "Copy Link Location" (in Firefox)
4. In Outlook 2007, go to "Account Settings"
5. Select "Internet Calendars" tab
6. Click "New"
7. Paste the copied reQall iCal feed link
8. Click on [Add] button. -
So ... both you and Deb responded to this question and state that the solutions proposed will handle Calendar I/O for Outlook 2003. Other users have responded (and now, including me) that this doesn't work w/ Outlook 2003. It indeed will import data from ReQall into Outlook 2003, but only as a group of tasks - not into the calendar. That sort of defeats the purpose of integration, doesn't it? Do I have to upgrade to Outlook 2007 to use this feature? PLEASE HELP! I love ReQall, but have been awaiting a solution for this issue since I first installed it. -
Tim, I apologize. I didn't see your comment from before. I'm sorry to hear it's not working with Outlook 2003. We do have some changes coming soon. If you'd like help before that, please let me know what's happening and I'll see what we can do. You can reach me directly at deb.miller@reqall.com if you'd like.

jm, can you tell us more? Are you using the direct outlook integration or are you using iCal? Are you getting an error? If so, what is it? Are you starting your item with "Meet" or "meeting"? Those are required to have the items placed in the Outlook calendar. If you're having further problems, send us an email to support@reqall.com so we can help with specifics. -
Inappropriate? Is reQall planning to support the creation of Outlook-compatible events that don't start with "Meet"?
I’m Anxious

Inappropriate? Can you tell me more about how you would like events created? How would you like to differentiate them from tasks?
-
I think the best solution may be to make everything with a due date appear in the calendar, this would be most helpful. It would be difficult to differentiate between things that should go in the task list, and things that should appear on the calendar. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for the input. I'll add this to our thoughts on iCal integration.
-
Inappropriate?Hello,
I also have this problem, and was wondering if there has been a fix yet.
Couldn't you guys just create a checkbox that says "make this an event" so reQall knows it's an event?
