Can you rescue my (unlogged) web browsing on Firefox and Safari? Last reply on May 09, 2008 14:41.

Most of the websites I visit are not logged on RescueTime. A few seem to be listed as "Blank Web Browser" and "Unknown URL," but the recorded time on these sites does not seem long enough to cover total web browsing time.

I don't know if RescueTime is designed to list Safari or Firefox as apps that have been used (as opposed to listing specific websites visited); in any case, neither Safari nor Firefox are listed as apps used.

So, three problems: 1) most web sites visited aren't being logged on Rescue Time and 2) web browsing is largely listed as "blank" or "unknown" and 3) amount of time logged for web browsing seems too short.

    Firefox 2.0.0.14
    Safari 3.1
    OS X.4.11

Can't access the application when "hide dock icon" enabled Last reply on May 10, 2008 15:27.

I'm using Mac OS 10.4.11. I downloaded RescueTime, installed it, and it was working fine. Then I saw a preference that said "Hide Dock Item," which I clicked, relaunched the application, and now I can't access it. I have a RescueTime menu item on my menu bar, but I can't click it (as I could when I had a dock icon). RescueTime doesn't show up in my application list or my force-quit list. Besides the menu icon (that I can't click), I'd have no way of knowing the program was even open.

Help! How do I undo this, or at least get the menu icon to work?

    Thanks,
    Julie

Using multiple computers - machine tagging Last reply on May 08, 2008 09:43.

I would like to recommend a feature. I want to be able to set a tag for a machine and have all data from that machine tagged accordingly. This would help me filter work from personal time.

Straight up: do Firefox and Safari just not work well for Rescue Time? Last reply on May 09, 2008 12:26.

There seems to be a lot of discussion around various details about this but am I correct in understanding that this basic problem is also occurring for many others:

Rescue Time just doesn't work very well on Mac OSX using either Firefox or Safari?
