Is there a way to manually log time spent on off-computer tasks, like working out or running errands? That functionality would be very useful to me. Thanks in advance!
What sort of time scales does RT use to determine whether the user is active / idle? (i.e. after x minutes, it stops logging data, etc.) And, is this changeable?
I tried RescueTime a while ago and it did not collect data from the Firefox 3 beta at the time, rendering it useless to me, because that is where most of my time disappears.
Since Firefox 3 has been released for a while now I assumed that the issue with RescueTime would likely have been fixed by now, so I decided to try again with the latest version. But it seems like the same problem is still there. Firefox only appears with window titles but no URLs in the logs and Firefox is not shown in the Dashboard at all.
This is on Mac OSX 10.5.4.
Do you have any idea as to when you might get around to fixing this problem? In the meantime, couldn't you at least report Firefox as an application instead of filtering it out?
Just installed the mac rescuetime data collector and get no sign of camino. I'm assuming its designated under "others" is there no support for camino or is this a glitch. I'm running Leopard btw.
hi
is there a way to use rescue time in 2 differente computers with the same email but with diferent information, in case 2 people using the computer at the same time?
Helo
i left my computer on even when im sleeping or on the university, and i want to know how i make rescuetime not register the hours that im not using it
So I installed RescueTime, played around with it and really like it. Then went to restart my macbook and no go. Stuck on the grey screen with the spinning gear.
Is this a common issue? If so a heads up on the solution would be great otherise I just consider it bad luck and nothing to do with RescueTime.
There seems to be a lot of discussion around various details about this but am I correct in understanding that this basic problem is also occurring for many others:
Rescue Time just doesn't work very well on Mac OSX using either Firefox or Safari?
I just installed rescueTime today. Fantastic idea and seems really like a useful app.
I'm a little concerned about how accurate the time reports are...
Here is the situation...
I am running RescueTime on a Macintosh with OS-X 10.4.11
I just watched an episode of BattleStarGalatcica (approx 48 minutes long) on the scifi channel using Safari (Most of my day to day web browsing is with firefox 3.05 Beta). After I finished watching )probbaly 50 minutes total) I updated ... and my most recent stats record only 15 minutes on scifi.com....
Is there something about watching streaming media (eg no keyboard interaction) that would diminish the estimated time recorded for a given site?
I'm using Flock on a mac, but my stats aren't separating anything out beyond Mail, RescueTime and Finder. So my Apps&Sites usage is currently 84% 'Other', which I'm fairly certain is all web-browsing in Flock.
Why isn't RescueTime recording the sites breakdown? I've only been using it for a day, but it's obviously collecting data - do I need to configure something to get it to recognise Flock/site stats?
Is there a way to enable a global shortcut for toggling logging in the Mac version of the client? I currently have to make sure that RescueTime is my active application before I can toggle logging, instead of being able to press the shortcut combination while in any application.
Just installed RT this week... On my dashboard all that shows are the apps I use -- isn't there supposed to be some sort of tracking for websites visited or something? Where do I access that (if it exists)? I'm on OSX (10.6) w/ Firefox & Safari.
