Outlook -- tracking how much time I spend on writing/responding to specific people. This will allow me to correctly bill for that time.
Here is what i would like tracked:
+ when i read an email: who sent it and what is the subject
+ when i write an email: who am i sending it to and what is the subject
Word -- Filename and location where it is saved
Then allow me to tag different activities so that I can say: these 3 emails are for client A and these 8 for client B. Same for documents
I know I've spent more time than that on some things. For instance, I marked Outlook as Work Email and I've spent at least 20 minutes with outlook open and in focus this morning - but my rescuetime dashboard for today doesn't show that.
How can I see exactly what rescue time is tracking and make my reports more accurate?
BTW, I use a mac at home and a PC at work, both hooked up to rescue time and both seem to be working - just not accurate!
I've been using RescueTime for two weeks now and am really enjoying it. I have two feature requests that I believe would double the value for anybody who uses MS Outlook.
1) Intergration to Outlook to record scheduled meetings (appointments of type Meeting or Recurring Meeting).
2) More granular recording of Outlook time (I spend about 30% of my time in Outlook it would be really valuable to understand what is spent on Tasks vs Mail etc).
For some reason Rescue Time isn't tracking my Outlook Express usage, which is quite alot and is important for me to find out how much time I spend emailing.
Till resuce time starts supporting direct integration with mail clients such as outlook etc, If rescue time can allow users to define working hours and setup time limit beyond which the idle time shows up in rescue time as idle times. Now user can tag these and include them in the reports. For example if I define my working time as 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM IST as working hours and 15 mins as the time limit then I will be able to see all the idle time beyond 15 mins in a separate place. Later on I can tag them as meeting or based on the meeting tag them accordingly to show up in tagged reports. This can be used by anybody whose Calendars are not integrated with rescue time.
