Can you rescue my (unlogged) web browsing on Firefox and Safari?

Most of the websites I visit are not logged on RescueTime. A few seem to be listed as "Blank Web Browser" and "Unknown URL," but the recorded time on these sites does not seem long enough to cover total web browsing time.

I don't know if RescueTime is designed to list Safari or Firefox as apps that have been used (as opposed to listing specific websites visited); in any case, neither Safari nor Firefox are listed as apps used.

So, three problems: 1) most web sites visited aren't being logged on Rescue Time and 2) web browsing is largely listed as "blank" or "unknown" and 3) amount of time logged for web browsing seems too short.

Firefox 2.0.0.14
Safari 3.1
OS X.4.11

Ok, let's figure this out. The first thing I'd like to do is have you enable some detailed debugging on your system and send me that information. I've included instructions on how to do that below.

Once you have enabled detailed debugging on your computer, I'd like you to spend some time in both Firefox and Safari moving around various websites you use during the day - and if possible, specifically ones that you don't see showing up in your Dashboard but you expect to.

Feel free to leave the detailed debugging enabled for longer than just this exercise, it adds a bit of overhead to the RescueTime process, but it should be unnoticeable.

Enabling detailed logging for the Mac Data Collector
    - Quit RescueTime if it is already running
    - Start the Terminal application located in Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app
    - At the Terminal prompt type:
defaults write com.rescuetime consoleLog -boolean true
    - Start the Console application located in Applications/Utilities/Console.app
    - In the Filter entry at the upper right of the Console application type: RescueTime
    - Click the Clear Display icon in the Console application to clear out any entries
    - Start RescueTime
    - The Console application should be showing a number of messages coming from the RescueTime application
    - Open up a couple of other applications that you normally use or any specific application if you are having an issue getting RescueTime to log time for.
    - Quit RescueTime to stop logging messages to the Console
    - In the Console application, select File -> Save a Copy As... and save the messages captured with the Console application
    - Email the resulting Console Messages.log file to: Team@RescueTime.com
    - Disable the detailed logging for RescueTime by following the instructions below (Optional - you might want to leave it enabled for a few days while troubleshooting issues)

Disabling detailed logging for the Mac Data Collector
    - Quit RescueTime if it is already running
    - Start the Terminal application located in Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app
    - At the Terminal prompt type:
defaults write com.rescuetime consoleLog -boolean false
    - Start RescueTime
