Couple of suggestions - update on rightclick, overlaying graphs, zooming graph
3 suggestions, the 4th is in another thread which I will find and attach to the bottom. These are just things I notice while using rescuetime that i wish I could do, I don't know if anyone else thinks the same or wants the same but i figured it was worth suggesting.
First one is about updating. To update now you need to right-click on the icon near the time/show preferences/send update now.
Seems very long, can it just be a right click then click update now? or if not at least show what time it was last updated? so you can decide if its worth updating the data?
2nd.
I like to look at the graphs, and analyse them being a nerdy numbers guy. So i kind of like flexibility with the graphs. I like the week view, and I like the day view, but what I would like to do is when it comes to the day view, is be able to click on an hour and have it tell me what I spent that hour doing and what programs /applications I used.
Another thing that I would like to be able to do is to overlay differnt tags, or days or weeks, or times i use the computer. For example, overlay the daily view of each week day to see when i tend to use the computer the most, or overlay Internet tag to see when i use the Internet the most, or watch tv shows, or anything like that. Just be able to compare the data by overlaying various tags, or times.
Also I would like to be able to zoom in just to view say from 12pm-5pm or a custom set of times not a full day or hour or week.
The last thing I will post below, because I have typed it out in another thread previously.

Inappropriate?from http://getsatisfaction.com/rescuetime...
"To automatically apply a tag to anything that is opened in firefox (internet in this case) but i could also tag individual websites. So when im here i tag it as rescuetime, or whatever, but there is a.. main tag applied to firefox which is internet.
Coz i cant really tell how much time i spend on the net, coz all the little sites aren't counted." -
Inappropriate?Some excellent suggestions Topher!
A couple of quick comments:
1. Easier access to Sending Updates - We plan on having a lot of improved functionality around data collector status and feedback (including the last time updates were sent). The "Send Update Now" button was intended more for troubleshooting purposes and hopefully the default of every 30 minutes works for most people. I'm not ruling out making it easier, just my current thoughts on it.
2. Graph flexibility, i.e. hourly details - Oh hell yes! We have a ton of ideas around the analytics we'd love to do on the data that is coming in, it is overwhelming. Suggestions like this help us prioritize what kind of additional graphs and data we make presentable to the users.
3. Overlaying graphs for comparisons - Very cool suggestion. We have some things in the works now that will provide some types of comparisons very similar to what you are describing.
4. Automatic tagging / categorizations - Another excellent suggestion and something that is on our "near term" feature enhancements. Our first step is to tighten up the manual tagging functionality (which you may have noticed our improvements so far there) and then we will be looking at automatic tagging functionality.
Keep these suggestions coming, events have transpired that will allow our development efforts to be considerably stepped up starting this next month.
Thank you!
I’m excited about great suggestions

Inappropriate?I want to second the hourly details suggestion - it's the one thing that came up first when investigating the graphs.
Something like the graph showing the usage of a single application, but for several (or all) applications used on that day would be another nice graph to have.
