Data Execution Prevention (DEP) Crash (Windows Vista)
I am getting a Data Execution Prevention (DEP) crash (Windows Vista), that closes RescueTime client.
I think the crash is in some way related to Firefox 3.5, because it started 2 days ago when I updated to FF 3.5. It happens sometimes (randomly) when I minimize Firefox to make another thing; not 100% sure, but I think it also happens on Firefox closing.
I am getting this crash 1 or 2 times per day.

Inappropriate?UPDATE: I am able now to reproduce the bug. When you open Firefox with a lot of websites (tabs) loading at the same time, and if you minimize Firefox while all websites are still loading, Rescuetime will crash with a Windows DEP error message; If I minimize Firefox with all websites loaded, it doesn't crash.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Thank you for providing a reproducible situation, I've made some changes to the DEP levels for RescueTime in the version we have in development now. I'll see if those changes fix this issue. We are trying to get through all of our tests with the new version to get it released next week.
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?I have this same problem as well. My RescueTime crashes almost daily. I'm often doing multiple tasks at once and having a lot of tabs open, and almost every time I need to minimize Firefox, it crashes.

Inappropriate?I have a newer version of RescueTime (2.1 series) available at:
https://www.rescuetime.com/installers...
It contains a number of fixes for crash issues being reported, but more importantly, it contains a stub for capturing data about these crashes (we are still trying to track down a couple).
First download and run the above update on your RescueTime. If you experience another crash, RescueTime will attempt to write a debug "mini-dump" file that will give us precise information on where the crash occurred in the code. Right now we need as many people as possible who are experiencing the crashes to email us those mini-dumps.
The steps are as follows:
- After RescueTime crashes, it should write a file into the users TEMP directory
- In Windows XP this is located at: C:\Documents & Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Temp
- In Windows Vista / 7 this is located at: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp
- Inside of the TEMP directory you should find one or more files named similar to "2ac2ea16-c62e-4b43-b047-5301136889fe.dmp". Everything before the .dmp will be random, but they should all be the same number of characters.
- Email any of those files you find to team AT rescuetime.com so we can review where the crashes occurred.
Fixing these crashes is my top priority!
Thank you -
thank you, will install this and mail those files if the problem happens again :)
