Error 3000: An invalid IP address was specified.

Receive error when attempting to verify after install.
Tried unchecking SSL as suggested, and issue doesn't change.
Tried visiting the API url as mentioned in the 'proxy' test and the RescueTime server gives a 500 Internal Error response (something wrong on the RT server)

Since we worked with RAD Moose through this issue via email, I wanted to post the solution in case someone else runs into a similar problem.

MUCH appreciation to RAD Moose for his patience in working through this issue.

    From RAD Moose:

    SUCCESS!!! =)

As I wasn't quite sure about what exactly was expected, I did the following....

    1. Open IE
    2. Select Internet Settings from tools menu
    3. Click Delete... button in Browsing History
    4. Click Delete All button
    5. Click Yes button
    6. Click Security tab
    7. Click Reset all zones to default level button
    8. Click Content tab
    9. Click Clear SSL State button
    10. Click OK on dialog
    11. Click OK on settings.

    I then closed IE.

I realized that I had other stuff open that might or might not affect
it, so I closed the apps down, and then from the Control Panel ->
Internet Settings I did the above again.

I then rebooted, started up Rescue Time and tried to verify. It popped
up a Windows OneCare Firewall dialog asking if it should allow access
access, but before I could click Allow, RT failed. So I clicked allow
and tried to verify again, with success.

Note, that Windows OneCare Firewall did not previously have a setting
    for RescueTime.

happy I’m thankful for helpful people
