Feature request: Application renaming
Some of my application names are unhelpful. For example ldls. I'd like to be able to rename them to something meaningful.

Inappropriate?We actually have a mechanism to do this in the database (where we can submit "friendly" names for viewing). I don't think it'd be too hard to expose that to our users. We'll get it on the list!

Inappropriate?Thanks! If you have a global "friendly names" list, you might want to add:
wmplayer=Windows Media Player
wuauclt=Windows Update
msmoney=Microsoft Money
wcesmgr=Microsoft ActiveSync
It might also be helpful once this feature is implemented to monitor the friendly names that users specify, and add them to your global list when a consensus emerges.

Inappropriate?I very much like this idea, but for slightly different reasons. I use a Mac and Linux. One of the programs I use a lot is jEdit, which is Java and is cross platform. From the Mac it is seen as jEdit, but from linux it is seen org-gjt-sp-jedit-jedit. I am hoping that allowing users to rename programs will groups these programs together on the website.
