Feature Request - Virtual Machine Support
I use a lot Virtual Machines, specially VMWare, and while I'm using it, all that appears in Rescue Time is the vmware process, but not the applications that I'm using inside the virtual machine or machines. I could install Rescue Time on the VM, but then I ́d get a double reading, from the host machine (with the vmware process) and the virtual machine. I'd be nice to have Rescue Time talk to vmware and get the process that is in focus.

Inappropriate?That'd be cool....
Right now, you can avoid the double reading issue by using the ignore feature in RescueTime. Basically, navigate the the VMWare graph page and select "ignore app" (warning-- this will delete the historical data for VMWare as well as ignoring it for the future). This is ignoring at a very basic level-- it bounces at our API-- so you can never get back this data, but it's great for stuff like VMWare, 3rd party screensavers that log time, SETI@Home, etc.
Of course, this keeps you from being able to track your VMWare time... So it's not ideal.
We all use VMWare too and this seems to work out for us. We'll get a better solution for you someday!

Inappropriate?Cool. That's good enough for me. Now, the "idle time" from the Rescue Time that is installed inside the VM won't mess with my results? As far as the VM's Rescue Time, I'm basically not don't anything while VMWare is not on focus.
