How often is free user data processed?

I'm just wondering how often Free user data gets crunched. The control freak inside me would like to know so I don't panic when i notice my dashboard says something like "Last update from your computer processed about 2 hours ago.". I've uppped my logging level to level three, and the data appears to be going out, every three minutes as advertised, just doesn't show up in dashboard every three minutes.

happy I’m curious

When the time data is sent from the RescueTime client, it is handled in two steps.

The first step is our "collector" which pretty much just accepts the incoming time data and places it in our queue.

Then we have a second step, our "processor", that asks the queue for the oldest data that has not yet been processed. Typically - there is a 3 to 5 second delay between something being "collected" and placed on the queue and the next available processor picking it up and updating the dashboard data.

We have the ability to assign priorities to incoming data, but right now we are able to handle the data as fast as it comes in.

So, that means that there should be very little delay between the client pushing the time data to it appearing on your dashboard.

If you are seeing the message on the Dashboard that your last data sent was over 2 hours - something is wrong. Could you send me an email to team AT rescuetime.com - from the email account that you used to sign up with at RescueTime.com. We'll take a look at our logs to see if we can track down what is happening.

    Thanks!
