Privacy in RescueTime... Delete data?
One of the concerns we've heard about RescueTime is privacy.
Just wanted to let people know a few responses on that:
1) We're going to roll out a feature that will let you totally nuke some or all of your data from our servers.
2) We don't ask for your name and happily encourage webmail addresses for anonymity if you're passionate about that.
3) We're going to look at AGGREGATE data, but have a pledge to not look at indvidual data (unless there's a bug/error that requires it).
4) I hate to mention it, but there are probably dozens of geeks who have access to your inbox. And Google is recording your search history.
5) We're making it easy to cheat in RescueTime-- if you want to fudge your data, I'll tell ya how to do it (I bet you can figure it out).
6) It's nigh impossible to put on someone's computer without their knowing.
If anyone has any other ideas around privacy, let us know. We're pretty adament about giving our users as much privacy as they want/need.
The more people who like this idea, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate?Hello, rescuetime is going to be great. But privacy is a biggy. I would prefer if browsertime was aggregated except for sites that I have specifically white-listed. This would have the benefit of making it easier to interpret and manage browsing time.
I mean, I'd like to know how much time I spend on pr0n. But I'd prefer to infer it. -

Inappropriate?I'd like you not to know the exact URL I'm visiting. Your privacy policy states that you collect "application / web site URL, web site title, ..." But I don't want you to sent to your server what my username on all these social websites is and I don't want you to know who my friends on there are.
Couldn't you just post the domain to your server? And allow someone to create a filter for page title so it doesn't send "Twitter / Scobleizer - Mozilla Firefox" but just "Twitter - Mozilla Firefox". Sure that's work that's to be done per domain, but I bet there'd be some people who are as concerned about privacy as I am and we'll tell you for each domain what the filter should be to make the title anonymous.
I'd be fine with this being an opt-in solution. Actually I don't care about all of your users' privacy. I care about my privacy and the privacy of the people I recommend your service to.
I’m scared

Inappropriate?yes, rescuetime seems like a great idea. but privacy/security is a big issue for me.
with so much data to be collected, how can i be assured that there is no keylogger or something of the ilk?
i would really like to give it a go, but the security/privacy issue is nagging me and holding me back :(
I’m bit worried
