Inappropriate? Can you let me know which version of Opera you are running so I can try to duplicate it on our test environment?
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Opera 9.27

Inappropriate?Konstantin,
I've tracked this problem down to instances where Opera does not have a URL address bar. For instance, if you open a new tab in Opera it by default goes to the "Speed Dial" page, which doesn't actually have a URL associated.
I'm going to make a change so non URL pages in Opera return back "Unknown URL" like they do in IE and Firefox. That should clear up the errors you are seeing.
Thanks! -
Hi,
Have you managed to fix this? I am having the same problem and I am really disappointed to see that nearly takes the world's best and most innovative web browser into consideration while overhyped Firefox gets all the attention.
Please let me know if this is fixed especially considering it has been over a month.

Inappropriate? With the most recent versions of RescueTime (1.0.4 or 1.0.5) - Opera for Windows is fully supported. Let us know if you run into any issues with Opera.
Thank you -
Inappropriate?Hi,
Thanks for the amazing speed of reply. You guys look alive. I downloaded rescuetime today and had been very eager to test it. Here is the message I get in the debug tab of your software:

RescueTime version is: 1.0.5.8
Also I have speed dial enabled and can hardly live without it.
Let me know if I am doing something wrong or what is the issue.
I hope the solution comes with same speed. If it does I am definitely telling my 2K+ subscribers about you guys.

Inappropriate?Nitin, would it be possible for you to email team@rescuetime.com with one of those log files that failed?
For example the last one you listed:
E:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Local Settings\Application Data\RescueTime.com\logs\pending\rt_20080519-184341.yml
Which after it failed will be located in:
E:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Local Settings\Application Data\RescueTime.com\logs\\rt_20080519-184341.yml
I can go through to figure out why it seems like Opera is generating records that our web service isn't liking.
Thank you! -
Inappropriate?I'm getting the same error "There was an unexpected error, some data may have been lost. syntax error on line xyz, col 17: ` window_title: 'Some great title'
/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/yaml.rb:133:in `l"
quite frequently. After some testing I was able to transfer a file after deleting the entry that was BEFORE the actual entry that was stated in the log (e.g. error was on line 675, I had to delete the entry on line 668 to 673).
An entry that I had to delete:
- os_username: myusername
app_name: opera
window_title: 'http%3a%2f%2fwww.fitnessforum-stuttgart.de%2fimages%2fAnmeldung_jederzeit_webside_11_04.pdf+-+Opera'
extended_info: 'http%3a%2f%2fwww.fitnessforum-stuttgart.de%2fimages%2fAnmeldung_jederzeit_webside_11_04.pdf%00'
start_time: 2008-05-26 15:17:35
end_time: 2008-05-26 15:17:51
Would be great if you could provide a fix for this.
I use:
RescueTime 1.0.5.20
Windows XP
Opera 9.50 beta -
Inappropriate?Mieber, thank you for the detailed information, I'm looking into why that record would be rejected by our system, the error is coming from the %00 character at the end of your extended_info record, I just don't know why that is causing our system a problem.
This does not appear to be a specific issue with the Opera browser, but a issue with how we accept or reject urlencoded information, so I'm keeping the Opera issue closed and opening a new one.
I'll let you know what I find out!
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?I am currently testing a fix that strips out the character that was causing this issue.
If you are interested in getting an early look at the fix send me an email at team@rescuetime.com otherwise I should have it released by the end of the week.
Thank you -

You will be able to find the file at:
