RescueTime doesn't seem to be able to detect the active tab for a web browser (Safari, Firefox)
I could be wrong but noticed this after I uploaded my data a few times.
Basically this means that it doesn't know what I'm actively looking at on the web.
btw I'm on Tiger.

Inappropriate? There are reports of issues with the most recent versions of Safari that breaks the URL methods. We are looking into resolutions and hope to have a fix for it soon.
We are not aware of any issues with Firefox at the moment.
Could you let me know what version and language of Firefox you are running?
Thanks

Inappropriate?Could you email me the email you are using for RescueTime.com at:

I will take a look at the incoming logs to see if I can get more details on the problem.
Thanks!
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Ok, it looks like Firefox is logging correctly - according to our records, so you should see sites that you've visited with Firefox.
Unfortunately with Safari, you're experiencing the same issue that others have reported. I'm actively looking into a solution for Safari and hope to have something real soon (tm)
Thanks for the bug feedback!

Inappropriate?np - your service/app is pretty amazing
I've been waiting for it since i last saw it on either delcious or yc.news
it did not disappoint

Inappropriate?I have the sam issue with Navigator 9, which is a derivative of Firefox 2, on Mac OS X
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I use IE at work and the SITES seem to report correctly. I occasionally use FIREFOX at home and it also works as expected. However, I prefer to use Seamonkey - it is the more recent mozilla client that integrates mail (like Netscape used to). I prefer not to use Outlook Express and IE at home because my firewalls are not as robust as at work. However, all my reports say SEAMONKEY.
It seems that each browser has its own issues in reporting/extracting the active tab and site currently in focus. However, for the 1% that use neither IE nor FIREFOX, do you want to expend the extra energy.
With limitless resources I would say "please make it work for seamonkey".
I’m ok with current browser support

Inappropriate?Rescuetime seems to have become uncoupled from Firefox. The apps still report correctly, but there's no record of sites visited.
Running Firefox 3.0b5
on
OSX 4.11
Do I need to go back to the last stable version of FF?
I’m curious

Inappropriate?Firefox 3 beta 4 and 5 broke URL handling on both the Mac and Windows. We have been looking into fixes and think we've got it fixed on the Windows side, but the Mac side has been more difficult, since it is not 100% reproducible.

Inappropriate?I'd like to add that this is becoming problematic. I have Firefox 3b5 and Safari, and it appears that both browsers don't report correctly. I feel too much for reverting to FF2...
I’m a tiny bit disappointed

Inappropriate? There should be no issues with Safari URLs reporting correctly. If you are seeing that as well as Firefox 3, then there may be something else going on.
Can you send me a couple of your uploaded logs with Safari and/or Firefox entries for me to review?
You're log files are located at Macintosh HD:[username]:Library:RescueTime:Logs
Send the last couple of log files from the uploaded directory to team@rescuetime.com and I'll see if I can determine what is going on.
Thanks -
Inappropriate?I'm sorry, since FF3b5 didn't work (something I found out about on this forum), I went back here to see if Safari did work, according to forum users. I overlooked that your comment regarding 'issues with the most recent versions of Safari' is 6 months old. Thanks!
I’m a happy camper

Inappropriate?Just to clarify -- I am running ff 3.0b5 on Tiger, but my tracked time is only coming reliably from my Safari usage? So I should stop using FF?
I’m undecided
