System tray icon doesn't appear when started
In the last few days, I've seen a problem where the system tray icon doesn't appear, even though the process is running. The first time it happened, I rebooted, and it reappeared. Today I had to reboot twice before it appeared. Also, when I looked at the preferences, it showed an error that it could not access a logfile because it was in use by another process. I don't know if these error are related, but it's quite a coincidence.

Inappropriate?Hi Greg- Hrm Windows will autohide stuff in the system tray when it's not frequently accessed (with some settings). If the RT icon showing if you click the arrow in the system tray? You can rightclick on the system tray (the clock is easiest) and click on properties in the menu. Then click on "customize" in the lower righthand corner of that window to customize how Windows hides the icons.
If this doesn't do the trick, let me know and we'll dig in further.
The file in use error can crop up occasionally, but the program should handle that pretty gracefully-- I don't think it's related.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate? Thanks for the quick reply. I'm familiar with the autohide feature; I got concerned when it the icon did not appear even after I clicked the "Show hidden icons" arrow. When I went into Task Manager, the process was apparently running, so I think it was still tracking my activity, but I still found it a little unnerving.
FWIW -- right now the icon is showing.
