Why can't I hide the dock icon anymore?
I've just downloaded the most recent version of Rescue Time (running OS X Leopard), and now I can't hide the icon in my dock anymore. Any ideas?

Inappropriate?Check to make sure you don't have multiple copies of RescueTime on your hard drive. I have seen situations where RescueTime modifies the wrong Info.plist file if it finds another copy somewhere.
The hide dock icon feature essentially changes one value in RescueTime's Info.plist file. I've attached the steps to do this manually, but check to make sure that you don't have multiple copies on your hard drive first.
Here are the steps:
1. Quit RescueTime
2. Navigate to your Applications folder and right-click on the RescueTime.app and select "Show Package Contents".
3. This should open a folder that contains a "Contents" folder, open that folder and you should see a list of folders and files including "Info.plist"
4. Double click on Info.plist to open it - it should open with the Property List Editor by default
5. Click the triangle next to "Root" and it should display the contents of the Info.plist file.
6. The setting we are interested is called "LSUIElement". This setting should be in the property list and should have a Value of 1 (hidden). If it has a value of 0, you can change it to 1 by double clicking on the value.
7. Close the Property List Editor and save the changes
8. Restart RescueTime and your dock icon should no longer appear -
I followed your guide, but these instructions don't seem to apply to Tiger :( -
Inappropriate?that worked for me.
I don't have multiple copies of rescue time though...
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Hide-from-dock used to work for me but at some point it stopped behaving. Not sure when, since I very rarely restart this machine. FWIW, this fix worked for me and I don't have any other copies of Rescue Time.app on my machine. I also checked the file permissions for all of the path leading down to the Info.plist, and everything is read/writable by me. Weird.
