Why does data collector eat up memory on 10.6?
I can't speak to the experience of those who use the Rescue Time data collector on Leopard but, when using it on Snow Leopard, the data collector eats up an obscene amount of memory. At present, it's using 301.5 MB but I've seen it go as high as 420 MB. It's a great tool but it really shouldn't eat up that much memory.
I'm using the data collector on a Macbook Pro 2.53 w/ 4GB of RAM running Snow Leopard 10.6.1.

Inappropriate? We’ve built a new version of RescueTime that is optimized for (and doesn’t crash or leak memory all over the place like the one that’s up on the download page right now) OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
There's a blog post and a link to it here:

We should have the OS X 10.6 version up as the standard download on the site in the next day or so. -
Inappropriate? Thanks Brian. In the words of Gilda Radner on SNL, "never mind." Much appreciated. I'll try out the new version.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Unfortunately, it shuts down whenever I switch to Safari and looks like I'm not alone as the thread below indicates. I'll eagerly await a new build. Thanks for trying to support Snow Leopard so soon after launch.

Inappropriate?Mark, we've got another new build that we released that should fix the Safari/shutdown issue. You can get version 2.1.0.657 from:

Thanks!
