I can't get my Blackberry Pearl 8130 (Sprint) to connect to Blackberry Desktop Manager running in Parallels
Parallels recognizes the USB connection and sees the 8130. The Blackberry Device Manager detects the device and gets the PIN. The Blackberry Desktop Manager does not think any devices are attached. HELP!
I am trying to connect via USB in order to synch with Outlook.

Inappropriate?OK, I finally got this to work after relentlessly reading the Parallels support forums and searching blogs. Basically, the problem is twofold:
- MacOS and Parallels VM fight unendingly for control of the USB connection. Go into your system preferences under Parallels and give control of the USB connection to the GuestOS.
- Some obscure settings in Blackberry Desktop Manager are affecting the connection. #1: Make sure that you leave 'synch device date and time' UNCHECKED in your Desktop Manager configuration. #2: Make sure that you have 'automatically synch device when connected' CHECKED.
Making these changes resulted in a swimmingly smooth synch. This appears to be a very common problem between Blackberries (all models) and Parallels. I'm sharing the answer here in hopes that others won't waste all the time I did trying to find the answer!!
I’m relieved that this works

Inappropriate?I tried these two steps and it didn't make a different... The desktop manager is still not recognizing that my phone is connected.... I had it working before I reformatted my hard drive yesterday... now I can't get it to work... I've uninstalled and installed and still no luck...
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I tried following the steps as outlined by Christine, but I couldn't get past step 1. I went to Preferences in Parallels and did not have an option to give USB control to GuestOS. I am running MAC OS X. I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
Does anyone have other solutions for this problem?
