My Facebook for Blackberry app keeps crashing repeatedly.
I'm using a Blackberry Curve 8320 from T-Mobile, and for a long while the Facebook for Blackberry application (v 1.2.0) was working just fine.
However, recently it started giving me fatal errors when I performed certain actions, like opening new notifications or messages, or trying to view my friends' status updates or my friend list.
I tried restarting my Curve and deleting the offending notifications, which fixed the problems momentarily, but then they got worse. I uninstalled and re-installed the FB app three times, but each time the problems got progressively worse. After the third reinstall it stopped working altogether. I am able to install the FB app, but I can't run it anymore. I can't even make it to the login screen anymore because it crashes every time I open the app.
The error I get is "UnsupportedOperationException". In the error log it appears to be accompanied by some other severe UI error. I can post the full error logs here if it helps.

Inappropriate?I have basically the same problem. Here's the full error message:
Uncaught exception:
net.rim.device.api.system.UnsupportedOperationException
This exception seems to be triggered each time there is a facebook friend image in the message, such as a friend request, or a friend message, or a wall-to-wall message.
If your facebook app does right as you start it, login to facebook through a web browser, and try removing the latest facebook message you were reading on your blackberry. that may at least let you into the application.
So far it's been the only application that throws exceptions on my Blackberry.
I’m dissapointed.

Inappropriate? You can try a handheld wipe on the device too. That will reset all the databases in the device, see if that helps. Don't backup/restore though, synchronize your information or if you backup then use selective restore options.
You may need to do a complete OS reinstall using the application loader in the desktop manager -
Inappropriate?I have had this problem on an off since first installing Facebook in November. It comes and goes.
Uncaught exception:
net.rim.device.api.system.UnsupportedOperationException
I have tried uninstalling the Facebook application and reinstalling it. I have had both success and failure with that. I have tried logging into Facebook through the browser, prior to opening the Facebook app. And have success and failure with that as well. Bottom line, I mess with it and eventually it starts working again. Then all of a sudden it will stop working. Very frustrating. It is the only app on my Blackberry that I have had problems with.

Inappropriate?Honestly, the Facebook app is extremely unstable - if you check out websites like Crackberry and BlackberryForums you'll see it causes all kinds of crashes, failures, and errors. Storm and Bold users (OS 4.6+) are already using Facebook 1.5 which reportedly fixes many of the memory leaks and other issues that plague the previous versions; hopefully it will be available for the rest of us soon!
Unfortunately the usual recommendation for problems with the Facebook app is to uninstall it. Their mobile site is pretty good these days; it's worth checking out if the app is too frustrating for you. -
Inappropriate? My old Facebook was working fine, it was when I was made to upgrade to v 1.5 that this started happening to me.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? The newest version of Facebook App for the Blackberry Storm causes Fatal 523 Errors. I tested it by removing an app at a time until the problem seemingly stopped.
Maybe time for a new fix?
I’m pissed.
