Can't see events on the map.

Sometimes when I log in I can't see any events on the map until I click on an event in the activity bar, or I can only see some events; for example I can only see Lastfm events for March 26th but I can't see Chad's Returning overdue books on the map. Once I click on his event in the activity bar then it shows up on the map.
