Default creation date == current browsing date

I have encountered this mismatch of expectations twice.

I am browsing the map. I navigate to a certain date to see if an event has been created that I know is happening on that day. I see no event, I double click, set the name, description and privacy level and hit create...

But its for the wrong date.

My assumption is that the date I'm currently viewing is the date that I would be creating with.
