No Call Display on My Ten plan? WTF?
My friend got that My Ten plan. Surprisingly, however, he doesn't get call display with this plan. But to add it on is $7.00 a month! for call display! hows he supposed to know who is calling? it just says unknown.
Any creative solutions/suggestions on how to get Rogers to add it on?

Inappropriate?Mmm... call Rogers and give them sh*t for 30 minutes and see if their manager (if you really get a manager) can give it to you for free...
Be warned though some of their "specials" are not too "special" after all. They offered free call display for one year but then they locked me into another 3 year contract (without me knowing). When I called back they argued that I had agreed on the phone to a 3 year extension (which was a bunch of BS on their part). I had to give them crap for 1 hour and then they told me they would get the collection agency to come after me if I did not pay... I told them I would call the BBB and accuse them of fraud.
Then magically the "extra" 3 years disappeared from my account.

Inappropriate?Ha ... you got some balls. I guess you really have to stand your ground with these guys, any tips on talking to them? Like, do you even bother talking to their reps or do you ask for the manager right away?

Inappropriate?Haha Dan, thanks for asking my question. But can you really give them crap when you're already locked into a three year contract? My friend (Diana) was using Telus but her plan was a rip-off, so when her contract ended she threatened to switch to Rogers and they gave her a discount right away. Right now I don't have any leverage.
I’m annoyed

Inappropriate?Yeah leverage helps, I did the same thing as Diana. However, calling them and berating them sometimes works too, especially cuz you can get completely different people. The more you call and the more people you talk to/annoy, you never know, someone just might help you out.
The one thing I learnt though is don't take 'no' for an answer, cuz they'll try to get rid of you ASAP.

Inappropriate? There was a case in the USA where a lady called Verizon wireless to complain about their crappy service. She called them 25 times in less than 6 or 8 months. The last call was with a manager who told her that since she kept complaining about their service. They could clearly NOT "satisfy the demands of the client". So Verizon cancel her contract and sent her a cheque to cover her transition to another wireless provider of her choice.
I have been a client of AT&T(Canada / yes back in the day), Bell, Fido(non-Rogers), Telus, Mike and now with Rogers... none of them have ever let their clients go on the basis of "the client not being happy". Unless you actually sue them.
I know of a case where Rogers gave service to a clinical mental unstable person. This person refused to pay and Rogers had to send out the collection agency on the family members of this person because he wasn't able to pay. The account amounted a total of $25,000 in a few months, well to make the story short a third company stepped in and paid the 25k. I am amazed at the fact that Rogers did not cancel his account right away.
Wireless companies here are always trying to squeeze every dollar out of you...

Inappropriate?I haven't tried this yet, but I think I will now
