Can I upgrade to a print version of Mental Models?
I bought a digital version of Mental Models in February when it first came out but would actually prefer to own the printed version due to its sheer volume. Do I get a discount if I "upgrade" to the printed version or do I need to re-purchase the book again? I hope the former.

Inappropriate?Hi Geoff; unfortunately, we don't support upgrades of that nature. Of course, if you purchase the paperback/digital combination of Mental Models, you can give away the extra digital copy.

Inappropriate? Thanks for the quick response, Lou. My mistake, I should have bought the print edition. 400+ pages are no fun to read on screen.
I’m sad

Inappropriate? It's a tough call. With our digital editions, we done many things to make them easier to use on-screen (in fact, we've opted in almost every case for on-screen utility over printing utility when we've had to make a choice). Thing is, most people would still prefer to use the digital edition for quick lookups and other reference needs rather than reading on-screen. There are exceptions, of course, like Kindle and Sony Reader users. And perhaps you? ;-) I'm curious: what type of device are you using to read? And what might we do to make it easier on you? Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed!

Inappropriate?I don't use one of them new fangled devices, just ol' Adobe Acrobat, which admittedly is not the best for reading on-screen. The software is slow and doesn't render text all that nicely.
While I appreciate the value of being able to search text from within Acrobat, I like to work away from the monitor and use paper when I'm initially planning or designing. That's where the printed book fits into my workflow.
