Hi Get Satisfaction team,

I think I report an important problem here:

The problem with the 15 minutes edit time is, every time I enter the "one minute left countdown" ;-) period and try to save my change (always only a small, quick fix / change, don't worry :)), it freezes! And subsequently doesn't show up in the post.
I think, at least your system should be configured that way, that it accepts all changes, made in that last editing period! "Freezing" is just not a solution. ;-)

Hi GetSatisfaction team,

as you know, I get topic recommendations as I type into the content field ("These topics may help") and these topics are also openable by me via right and left click, but they're not openable with the "Drag De Go" extension (v.0.2.5.1) for Mozilla Firefox (v.3.0).
I don't know why, but I had never any problem with this extension any site.
I also use it on your site, but just not for the AJAX (I'm right, am I?) created hyperlinks.

Of course this should somehow concern the extension developer, but I'm just wondering (as a non-geek) why it just doesn't work on that single website / web form?
I didn't deliberately check some other AJAX forms, but I'll do it soon.

Hope I'm not wrong here with my question, if I am, hm, just delete the topic. ;-)

some seconds ago, I tried to both products of Plazes:

As I added the normal Plazes, suddenly the right product couldn't be added anymore.
And short afterwards, the buttons and explanations somehow reversed. On the added "Plazes" on the left, there was an + Button with the corresponding description and on the right, there was the - Button and the description "Remove from your dashboard" for "Plazes beta".

Strange.

getsatisfaction incorrectly shortens a URL with brackets (parentheses)

is shortened wrong, as you can see.

Note: many implementations of e.g. BBCode (such as the implementation in vBulletin) have the same problem. But the URL I pasted is straight from Firefox "right click, copy location", and I should not have to manually substitute %28 and %29 for the brackets.

According to RFC1738 (http://www.w3.org/Addressing/rfc1738.txt , section 2.2) the following characters are allowed unescaped in a URL:

$-_.+!*'(),

Of course if you automatically include ) in a URL without you will probably have complaints from people who enclose their entire URLs in brackets (http://www.example.com/). I would suggest only excluding a final ) or , (and possibly !) if the following character is a disallowed character (e.g. a space) and always including all the others. Also definitely include a ) if the URL ends with it if the URL previously contained a matching number of (s.

There are interesting side effects to having a < (lessthan) followed by a - (Hyphen). The message magically gained a > (greaterthan) symbol and was missing half the text.

Howdy,

It seems that line breaks and urls are stripped from the company_promoted $reply.content in topic.t. However, right below, the line breaks show up. A quick glance at the page source shows that the line breaks, etc are being passed, but aren't shown.

Alas! Digging into topic-reply.t I see that content is modified with a |nl2br. Now the line breaks are there, but, unlike Get Satisfaction, the urls still don't work.

It is conceivable that this issue is already solved, but just wanted to make sure you guys were aware. Now I'm going to check out Smarty to see if I can get a link maker. If you have recommendations, I'd love to hear them.

Hi,

I ran into a bug with the very field I'm typing this into right now (the textarea element).

I was submitting a bug report to a developer and it was botching up when I put a less-than sign into the text (<). Using an "&" + "lt;" works just fine for making less-than signs, but you're apparently not parsing the text and doing a simple substitution before displaying it... most likely a simple oversight, but very annoying =P

Help Center won't stay authenticated / in sync

I setup the help center php application, and it has trouble "staying in sync" with the service.
When I visit the main help center page the list of topics seems to be out of date (sometimes 2 replies when there is 3, etc.)

Each time I log in to access the dashboard, help center has to re "authenticate" with my get satisfaction account, and the API services menu fills up with multiple keys.

strptime() function is not implemented on Windows platforms.

Everything went well with installation. I am installing the Help Centre on my local machine with following settings: Vista Enterprise + Apache 2 + PHP Version 5.2.5 + mySQL (Client API version 5.0.51a).

On the final step I get the following error.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function strptime() in {drive-letter-then-path-to-location}\helpcenter\Satisfaction.php on line 117

And on line 117 we have:

Missing "Has the status changed?" in reply edit form

Hi,

I've noticed that if I forget to set the "Has the status changed?" when I post a reply, I can't simply edit my reply within the 15 minute grace period and do so — that field isn't available in the edit form (only the initial reply form).

The only workaround I've found thus far — and maybe I'm just missing the toggle somewhere else on the page — is to delete my original reply and then re-reply, this time remembering to set the status. Obviously this is sub-optimal workflow-wise, but worse than that, it most likely (I can't see since I'm the one replying) ends up spamming the followers of that topic with two copies of my reply.

Is there something I'm missing? Is there a toggle to change the status somewhere else without replying again? Can you include the status change pull-down in the edit form?

Creating a new company fails with "Domain is Invalid" error

Using http://getsatisfaction.com/companies/new I'm getting a "Domain is Invalid" error adding a company. The domain name has a dash in it, which could point to an overzealous validation routine. Also, on refreshing with the error message, the additional links at the bottom of the page then shows an entry that wasn't there before with the text description saying #{this.label} and the url part showing http://

I've also noticed some minor layout issues when using the site with Safari 3 beta (such as the cancel links on the additional links section overwriting the url input box.)

password reset doesn't work

I reset my password and got a "success" message but I can't sign in with the new password. I think this happened last week too when I tried.

I know it's a mortal sin to combine bugs but the grey on black error message design isn't visible. It took me 3 tries before I noticed it!
