After a PBwiki Support meeting tonight, I decided to direct this issue to you about the edit timeout that's in place.
While a timeout for the edit button is available for the usual user, a support person's answer may change as their system changes - thus an entirely different answer may apply.
How can we edit these answers? Can some of us gain special privileges for an edit button to appear, or to delete threads?
When you are updating your profile, and / or changing your password, the page has multiple form submits. If you click to save your new password, any data you entered above gets cleared. Might be worth taking a look, maybe make the forms either iframes or Ajax-based?
There seems to be a problem with the change password function. I select my email address and enter my password (twice), and get 'password doesn't match'. I try again and get 'user name already taken'....endless loops. ???
It seems like your search shouldn't require punctuation in company names such as O'Reilly or Trader Joe's. If I search for "oreilly" or "trader joes" I get a message that "No companies found matching..." I would like it if I could search more easily (including suggestions for misspelled company names)
We sell thousands of business and home office technology and offer and support many brands. We are not manufacturers and would like an option added to indicate product "sold" by rather than "made" by. As we add products we don't want to give the impression that we own a manufacturers brand. How can we be more clear about the products we represent?
I don't _just_ work for my company and I want to be able to use Satisfaction as just a plain-old regular Joe.
Can I have more than one e-mail address tied to my profile? That way, I can tie my work e-mail to stuff that I say about work. And the rest of the time, I can speak as myself.
I want to type in the upper right search field and get a list of companies, products and users who match what I typed.
The status quo is, type something in and receive results explicitly for the company the user is parked on.
I'd like as a first step towards the broader search, to be able just to search topics across the entire site. That would be imminently useful and increase my participation dramatically.
Thanks, everyone! Satisfaction is a pleasure to use and I love the twitter widget.
I've tested the hCard profile importer (http://getsatisfaction.com/people/new) and had mixed results. Last.fm imports in particular seem to be hit-and-miss (sometimes it finds the profile, sometimes not); my Technorati profile will not import at all ("This profile does not support hCard"). Flickr seems to work reliably.
The reason it came up is I'm trying to verify it against Rosebleed's user profiles (eg. http://rosebleed.net/users/profile.ph...) and having no luck. I suspect part of the problem may be the hCard+XFN friends list, but even on a profile with no friends list it doesn't work. (I seem to recall that it has worked in the past, but can't reproduce it now)
I landed on the "Companies" page, and thought "Hey, let's see if anyone has commented on the Aliph Jawbone bluetooth headset" since I just bought one, and it's bugging my inner ear. "Maybe someone's come up with a 'make it less itchy' hack."
I looked for the "Search" box that would allow me to type in "Aliph" or "Jawbone" and found none.
"Huh," I thought. I looked around some more. "Weird, am I supposed to scroll? Oh well, I'll just use Ctrl-F--I hope all the companies are on this page!"
Now unless, I'm missing something, as soon as there are more than a handful of web too dot oh companies on here--there's gonna be a need for company search, right?
(if this thread is elsewhere, whoops. I DID search within Satisfaction for a "company search" thread, and didn't find it. Someone asked for a user-search tho')
I just used the Satisfaction integration for twitter and while the post was made to twitter, the tinyurl used in the tweet was broken. Oh my. Here is the tweet:
i've been receiving so many email updates from one of the topics that i started that i've decided to turn off email updates for all topics in satisfaction. maybe i'm missing some very obvious controls, but here is what i'm looking for:
1.) the ability to restrict *how often* i receive email updates (every time an update is made to a topic, or 1x per day, or 1x per week, etc.). this feature does not appear to exist in the current release.
2.) the ability to unsubscribe from specific topics that i've started. right now unsubscribing from topic updates via email is an "all or nothing" affair, which is frustrating.
3.) the ability to subscribe to updates to my topics as an RSS feed. i would *really* prefer to receive updates on topics in my RSS reader, which i visit when i have time, versus in my email, which i try to restrict to personal communication.
